| Nov-23-11 | | JoergWalter: Dear CG staff,
I think it would help the de-escalation process if you received an email from <LMAJ> concerning <LIFE Master AJ:...
I have even given CG a list of games to DELETE ... including this one! (It is - after all - just a glorified blitz game.)> Is this true? |

 | | FSR: <JoergWalter> The site has 13 Goldsby losses and 12 draws. No point wasting space on such games. |
|
| Nov-23-11 | | TheFocus: But leave those wonderful <Goldsby> wins against those Class players. They are solid gold in terms of instruction and razor sharp play. Truly, <Goldsby> is the U.S.'s most under-rated Masters. Excuse me, <Original Life Master>! |
|
| Nov-24-11 | | JoergWalter: <FSR> I am trying to check whether <LMAJ>'s announcement was true to his word and probably we might learn about his <list>. In fact, Goldsby's games against Nakamura and Goldin need not be erased, imo. |
|
| Nov-24-11 | | hedgeh0g: No prizes for guessing which games Goldsby has put up for deletion (Hint: you won't find any wins among them). |
|
| Nov-25-11 | | Colonel Mortimer: <hedgeh0g:> <(Hint: you won't find any wins among them)> Why should <AJ> suffer the humiliation of his loses here, at the hands of opponents that CHEATED!!!!...WITH A COMPUTER!!! |

 | | Penguincw: Just curious. Is there any limit on how long your bio can be? |
|
| Nov-26-11 | | crawfb5: <Penguincw: Just curious. Is there any limit on how long your bio can be?> Yes, although it can be fairly long. I think User: malthrope was pushing the upper limit, so that would give you a rough idea. One of the admins might be able to give a more precise answer about bio length limit. |

 | | Penguincw: Also, I have another suggestion. Can you add background music to the site because recently I've been getting bored of the quietness so I'm going on Youtube and typing up my favourite songs. That's what I'm thinking at this point. Thank you in advance. |

| Nov-29-11 | | who: If it is indeed true that Tal vs Akopian, 1992 was Tal's last game, could you somehow set it so it shows up last in the list. As people on that page have noted, there is an elegance to it being his final game. |

Anybody? |

Dec-01-11
 | | WannaBe: December 31st 1992 is good for me. |
|
Dec-01-11
 | | Domdaniel: <Tal's Last Game> Wannabe's suggestion of Dec 31st might be slightly miraculous, as Tal died six months earlier. According to Wikipedia, he emerged from hospital on the 28th of May, beat Kasparov in a blitz event, and returned to hospital to die. It's very likely that the Akopian win was his last tournament victory at classical time rates. But was it his last actual game? A book on the Barcelona event (Tal, Korchnoi, Sokolov, Akopian, etc) was later published. While the games can be found in many places, exact dates - for any of them - seem hard to pin down. But whoever submitted Tal's games to CG seems to have used an idiosyncratic numeric code, which includes Tal's opponent's name in the 'event' field. That should perhaps be tidied up. Many sources (websites, mainly) also cite Tal-Akopian as the last game, but they could be lifting information from some original unknown source. Maybe somebody has the tournament book? A weaker master tournament was also held in Barcelona that year, possibly at the same time as the GM event. |
