WannaBe: <keypusher> I think that is only if a guest commentator is posting, then the commentator's post stays underneath the board.

OK, because for me the most recent kibitz appears underneath the board. Even if I have that kibitzer on ignore. :)

chessgames.com: <keypusher: Is there a way to tweak the settings for live games so that the most recent kibitz does NOT appear just below the board?> No, sorry, nobody's ever asked for that.

May I ask what your motive is? Is it to more easily read the rest of the page, or does it have to do with somebody on ignore?

Dec-11-11  chessmoron: I second <Thanh Phan> suggestion to have Sportaccord World Mind Games (Men's and Women's Blitz/Rapid/Blindfold sections).

The latter. It's not a big deal, obviously. There are some posters I'd just as soon not read while a game is going on, but I'll live.

Dec-11-11  YouRang: Congratulations cg.com on being a successful site for 10 years. I'm happy to have been around to witness over half of them.

Dec-12-11  AylerKupp: Re: Rematch with GM Varuzhan Akobian.

I understand that GM Varuzhan Akobian is receptive to playing a rematch with The World team, where the World Team would have the White pieces and GMVA would have the Black pieces. Several team members of the just concluded Akobian vs The World, 2011 have indicating an interest in starting pre-game preparations now, even though the start of the rematch game, if it happens, is likely months or even more than a year away. Still, it's hard not to be pleased by their enthusiasm.

One issue, of course, is that the team would like their preparations to be private and not accessible to GMVA. Several suggestions have been made but I would think that the simplest one from your perspective would be to set up the chessforum for the game soon rather than just prior to the start of the game as is usually done. And, if the rematch game does take place, it's something that you would have to do eventually anyway, so it wouldn't require any more effort on your part; you just would have to spend the effort sooner rather than later.

So, I'm requesting that you set up "The World vs. V. Akobian" site as soon as it is convenient for you to do so, with the usual process of having players sign up for the game, restrict access only to those signed up, prevent access by GMVA, and allow Premium Members to hide their chessforums from GMVA and hide their comments from chessforum activity (although this later capability is probably not that critical at this time).

Who knows? Maybe the early publicity will result in more players signing up and increase the interest and participation in the game. That will be to everyone's benefit.

Dec-13-11  Shams: Still four days left in the so-called "Amber Lite" tournament in Beijing. Men's section features Karjakin, Ivanchuk, Gashimov, Grischuk, Ponomariov and Kamsky. Blind and Rapid sections.

Can we get a host page?

Domdaniel: <CG> Isn't there a no-pseudonyms rule for database games? No CG user names, for example? How does that square with the three internet games played by Tim Hortons?

Unless deceased hockey players and Canadian fast food franchises have taken up chess.

Nothin' personal, Timbo.

WannaBe: <Shams> Is that a lo-cal tournament? Tastes great and less fillin'??
Dec-13-11  chessmoron: <WannaBe> It's an All-Star cast: Ivanchuk, Kamsky, Grischuk, Mamedyarov, Vachier-Lagrave, Gashimov, Dominguez Perez, Ponomariov, Wang Yue, Wang Hao, Le Quang Liem, and more.

Maybe Chessgames has received permission to have the PGN.

Sorry, but our admins have several (very good) reasons for not enabling game collection kibitzing. See here for example: chessgames.com chessforum
