 | | chessgames.com: Thanks so much to all of you--collectively you are really what this site's about. |
|
| Dec-11-12 | | Colonel Mortimer: <LIFE Master AJ: I have been a Premium member for a number of years ... so I guess I am a little notalgic about it. (I probably should not be, this site has too many trolls on it, anyway.)> Yep, one too many. |
|
| Dec-11-12 | | hms123: <cg> You might want to take the <Live Chess> link Live Broadcast Page to the <LCC> off the front page. |

 | | chessgames.com: FYI — We refreshed our Zipfile Archive yesterday so it contains the full London Classic and other tournaments. It does not yet contain the historical tournaments, although we're working on that. |

 | | Check It Out: Happy belated birthday, CG!
Just got back from the London Chess Classic where I hooked up with a few other members of CG. It really is an international community you've created here. You should organize a CG festival/tournament in Florida! I'll bet you'd get plenty of volunteers and participants, and you'd spread the brand. Plus, you'd get the folks that make up this site in one room...hm, that could get interesting. |
|
| Dec-13-12 | | TheFocus: <Plus, you'd get the folks that make up this site in one room...hm, that could get interesting.> Sure. A couple of fist-fights, a couple of chairs getting thrown, some cussing and name-calling, etc. Sorta typical of what we do here at <CG> on a daily basis. Except that there would be coffee and donuts. |
|
Dec-13-12
 | | WannaBe: Coffee and donuts?! I'm there, I'll make the trip from CA to FL for that shin-dig!! Throw in free beer, and I'll bring the Coffee and Donuts! |
|
Dec-13-12
 | | Annie K.: Hmmm... I could perhaps be persuaded to take a trip to the US for something like that! :D |

Can we please have a forum for the <2012 WORLD MIND GAMES> event? I will provide links to the PGN from TWIC once they are available. SITE -> http://sportaccord2012.fide.com/en/... LIVE GAMES -> http://sportaccord2012.fide.com/en/... Thanks |

 | | Fusilli: <cg> In the solution to clue #18 you misspelled December as "Decemember". :) |
|
Dec-14-12
 | | OhioChessFan: I commend <Fusilli> and <penguin> for finding the typos they did. The attention to detail of chess players is something I wish all the world had. And the attention to detail for the current biographer group is what really sets this site apart. You can't turn it off and on at a whim. Attentive to detail on big things, attentive to detail on small things. |

Dec-14-12
 | | chessgames.com: <notyetagm> We started to import Amersham Open (2012) but ran into some odd PGN so we stopped. For example, there are games from 2013 in that file. We'll examine it closer; it might just be a few typos. We did update the Bundesliga. |
|
| Dec-14-12 | | TheFocus: <For example, there are games from 2013 in that file.> Games from the future? That'd be a first. |
|
Dec-14-12
 | | chessgames.com: <OhioChessFan: I commend <Fusilli> and <penguin> for finding the typos they did.> We do as well, and <Beholder> and probably some others also deserve praise. Nobody should ever think they are annoying us by pointing out errors--it's a job we take seriously and when a goof slips out we want to fix it. |

 | | chessgames.com: <CG Meet-up>
We've contemplated that before. There have been several unofficial ones from what we've heard, and they sound like a good time was had for all. Perhaps the best way to accomplish such a party is to wait for a high-profile American chess event, perhaps the US Championships or the US Open, and then make plans to meet there. |
|
Dec-14-12
 | | Fusilli: <OCF> Thanks! (For what is worth, I am with you in fighting the common misconception that people who are attentive to detail are supposed not to be attentive to the big picture as well.) |
|
| Dec-14-12 | | chessmoron: <CG.com> Please upload the 4 Rounds of Men and Women Rapid games from 2012 World Mind Games. |
|
Dec-14-12
 | | Annie K.: <cg: <Perhaps the best way to accomplish such a party is to wait for a high-profile American chess event, perhaps the US Championships or the US Open, and then make plans to meet there.>> Then you'll only have a meeting for American site members. The rest of us, not being USCF members, can't play in a USCF event, and wouldn't have much to do there. :( Maybe you could put up a poll question as to how much international interest there would be in attending a specifically chessgames.com meet-up? If the numbers justify it, and you want to make the effort, organizing something 3-4 days to a week long (to justify the trip) would be cool. Remember that any games planned wouldn't be USCF-rated, but, if you want to go all-out, maybe you could arrange for a FIDE-rated event. :) |
