 | | chessgames.com: We would have gotten to them eventually; but yes, I moved them to the front of the queue for you since you asked. |
|
| Oct-08-14 | | Boomie: The games for PokerStars IoM Masters are seriously messed up. There are duplicate games and bogus pgns. You probably should hold off loading more of them until they get their act is together. |
|
| Oct-09-14 | | Benzol: Perhaps you could finish off the George Trundle Masters (2014) tournament. Thanks. :) |

 | | chessgames.com: <The games for PokerStars IoM Masters are seriously messed up.> I've noticed that since the first round when they put country-names as middle names for all the players. Then we started finding bad game scores and duplicates. More evidence in favor of our rule of thumb: if the player name field is messed up, you shouldn't trust any other part of the PGN. We just temporarily disabled the fetching of the PGN. |
|
| Oct-09-14 | | Boomie: In World Junior Championship (Girls) (2014), there are some duplicate games. Maybe the upload program should check the total number of games before uploading...or something like that. |

 | | chessgames.com: Yes, we know. A number of short games from the early rounds reappeared with more moves on them. We fixed the ones at the top of the leaderboard but there are undoubtedly more. The software can easily detect that something fishy is going on, but even if it did, what else is there to do but upload the new data? We certainly don't want the software to delete game scores autonomously. |

 | | chessgames.com: Does anybody have any idea how to get the PGN for Millionaire Chess (2014)? |
|
Oct-10-14
 | | chancho: <Chessgames.com> I found this link: http://www.theweekinchess.com/live
Look for Millionaire Chess op on the list.
Where it says <USA> press on that and it should download the PGN. |

| Oct-10-14 | | MarkFinan: Is it normal that sometimes I have to keep logging back in when I haven't logged out in the first place? I didn't clean my cache and I didn't use any memory boosting apps, so I just tried cleaning my cache and using a memory boosting app but I was still logged in when I came back to the site! Can you tell if someone using a different IP address to mine has tried logging into my account here, because this is the 4th or 5th time it's happened in the last few weeks? My password is saved to this handset and browser, just in case I ever forgot it, so I don't understand why this keeps happening. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Is it normal that sometimes I have to keep logging back in when I haven't logged out in the first place?> It's normal in the sense that a lot of people have that problem, although you shouldn't have to do it. <Can you tell if someone using a different IP address to mine has tried logging into my account here, because this is the 4th or 5th time it's happened in the last few weeks?> Even if somebody did have your account, they would not be able to log you out remotely. The login/logout functions only apply to the machine you are using. I'm guessing it is a cache issue, but these things can be tricky to resolve because there are at least layers where the cache can take place: your browser, your OS, your carrier. Anyhow, I wouldn't worry about somebody using your account at this time. |

 | | mistermac: On move 24 White to move in our game against GM Naiditsch, I was unable to cast Rxb4 as a vote, as it was judged to be invalid. However, it is quite happy with Rb4, with a black knight occupying b4. Is it a bug? |
|
| Oct-11-14 | | MarkFinan: <Anyhow, I wouldn't worry about somebody using your account at this time.> Well after someone trying it on facebook last month I have good reason to be paranoid, and I don't really understand that paragraph! |
|
Oct-11-14
 | | chessgames.com: <mistermac> That is a bug (actually an admin fumble) but it should work now. We also took all of the people voting for Rb4 and turned it into Rxb4. |
|
Oct-11-14
 | | chessgames.com: <MarkFinan> Mark, what I'm saying is that I did indeed look at your login history and it always seems to come from roughly the same IP with the same device. So I can't say for sure that nobody else is signing in as you, but if that's happening, it's somebody who lives near you and uses the same type of device and same carrier. |
|
| Oct-11-14 | | MarkFinan: Okay, no worries. But that's really strange because for the last 5 months I've logged in from the device I'm using now. I've not logged in from anywhere else, not even from a different part of the country. In fact the only place different I've logged in from is just different rooms in my apartment. I probably am being a bit paranoid after recent events, but this device has never logged out for me before, apart from the last 2 weeks. I'm just letting you know in case my handle starts saying some crazy stuff........ Although you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference, lol. Jokes ✌ |

 | | mistermac: Good on you for fixing the Rxb4 thing. It all happened because some people had voted for it, and then their votes went off the screen. So, to see whether at least ONE person had voted for it, I tried it, as no vote comes up unless it has a companion, which is a bit silly, so I spend a lot of time trying to find the singletons. Keeps the mind occupied. So, in the end, I did not vote for Rxb4, but for resignation. Sorry, GM Naiditsch, I must not give too much away! |
|
| Oct-12-14 | | Boomie: There are some duplicate games in <World Junior Championship (Girls) (2014)>. For example:
A Fransson vs S Ibrahimova, 2014

Tianlu Gu vs K Mahasweta, 2014

 | | FSR: <Welsey So defeated Webster University teammate Ray Robson in the final match to clinch the championship and $100,000.> Who is this Welsey So? |
|
| Oct-14-14 | | Alien Math: <FSR: <Welsey So defeated Webster University teammate Ray Robson in the final match to clinch the championship and $100,000.> Who is this Welsey So?> Some pinoy spam, continue the day as normal |

 | | WannaBe: <FSR> I think Wesley So was on Star Trek Next Generation. |
|
| Oct-14-14 | | Alien Math: <WannaBe> or <FSR> In actual, if you wish to learn of the <So> activities you should refrain from their page and search the news on your own, if however the <So> falacies are to your liking, you could search for the Wesley So page and read their gloating or supporting of their current champion, same thing |
|
Oct-14-14
 | | FSR: My point, which was apparently too subtle, is that <Welsey So> - whom CG.com announced on its front page as the winner of the Millionaire Chess tournament - is not the same as the much better known <Wesley So>, the actual winner. |

 | | WannaBe: <FSR> As long as the first and last letter are correct, the brain usually fills in the rest. http://www.ecenglish.com/learnengli... I know that I did not catch the typo, on the home page, or in your psot. =)) |
