Check It Out: Happy birthday, CG!

14 years of age can be an intense time. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, and don't do anything too rash.

By the way, hot tip for the Puzzle Hunters: this year, all clues will be announced via our Twitter feed at https://twitter.com/chessgamescom.

So follow @chessgamescom or look for hashtag #Nuklu :-)

Domdaniel: Hi, CG -- <We are proud to announce that on Thursday, December 10th, 2015, Chessgames will be 14 years old! >

My niece Isabelle -- aka Iz -- was 14 just two days earlier. She plays chess, as do her younger brother James and her cousine Charles. I look forward to playing with all three of them over Christmas.

Watch this space for future champions.

Domdaniel: <hashtag #Nuklu> Eh? I *think* Annie was first to spell the word like this, but I reckon I was first to actually pray to Nuklu.

O Nuklu
Smite the Unbelievers!
Smite the Believers!
You're a Deity, Nuklu!
Smiting is your thing.

Annie K.: <Dom> yep, that's correct. And then <Switch> joined up too, and helped establish a proper Nuklu fan base. :)

Wow, Izzy is 14 already?! Guess it's been a while...! ;s

WannaBe: Super weird, I am now connected from home, and on the home page, I see the birthday cake and celebrating 14 years of chess.

But when I click on "forums" or "kibitz" link, it goes back to the regular banner.

In Iceland we'd get a tax break, like the Zuists.

Zuism is, of course, an ancient Sumerian religion, popular in Iceland. Not to be confused with Zunism (worship of an Asian sun god, Zun) or Zoism (devotion to a life principle).

Before Nuklu came into my life, I was a lapsed member of the Harvey's Bristol Witnesses.

Dec-11-15  Nietzowitsch: It's been a while that I've read <Thus spoke Nuklu - a book for all and none>. Its influence was a life changing experience...
