|
| Oct-19-16 | | zanzibar: I was going to make some serious comment, but I'd only turn blue in the face trying, under present circumstances at least. |

<Z> Never worry about that. Just follow this method: <zanzibar> Serious comment <zanzibar> Perth Amboy, New Jersey |

<The Honorable Member from Ohio> <They are never better, under any circumstances.> Well I've been trying to figure out a way to post such that my messages never actually appear> The person who figured that out has been trying to explain it to you. ***
< Domdaniel: Sheep with blue balls are actually rams. > Damn that was funny. |

LOL, Daniel! OK, I promise I will wait 1 more second! Honestly, I don't think I am fast enough to read that message, LMAO, and then mouse over to the kibitz! button in less than 1 second. :) |

Blue Balls Floating on the Page
In the monitor's glow I see them
Blue balls floating on the page
When I kibitzed tonight and clicked send
I thought they'd never fly again
They weren't here in September
October brought them on the stage
And through the months I'll remember
Blue balls floating on the page
Some day when we meet up yonder
In Caissar's land of endless age
On a site that knows no parting
Blue balls floating on the page |

Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain-Willie Nelson > Speaking of Willie Nelson, I'm sure he could answer <JFQ>'s question: jessicafischerqueen:
QUESTION: Are the revolving blue balls better if you're stoned? |
|
| Oct-20-16 | | crawfb5: A serious, but presumably simple question:
In putting together a short bio for Robert Henry Steinmeyer, US Championship (1963/64) hyperlinks properly, but US Championship (1962) does not. Am I overlooking something simple? The system freezes out new edits for 30 minutes (even for the person who made the edits) and I'm off to work in a few, so I'm out of time for now. |

 | | chessgames.com: <crawfb5: A serious, but presumably simple question> Yes, sadly during the server transfer the code became fractured and the way it makes hyperlinks is currently buggy. The universal workaround is to not shove anything except for whitespace in front or behind of all URLs until I can get it working like it was a few weeks ago. |
|
| Oct-20-16 | | crawfb5: Thanks. Will fix tonight. |

 | | Tabanus: <whitespace in front or behind of all URLs> I can probably live with whitespace between URLs and \, and between URLs and ] and ]], but not between URLs and ) :) |

| Oct-22-16 | | Mudphudder: Can anyone tell me how to upload a game onto the chessgames.com database? |
|
Oct-22-16
 | | WannaBe: <Mudphudder> Home page, right hand side, scroll down a bit, there's a link "PGN Upload Utility". Last link in the yellow section. It's kinda hidden. |

 | | MissScarlett: Well, someone pulled their finger out. But wouldn't it be more efficacious if you promoted me to the position of editor so I could effect these changes myself? Let me remind me of your prior offer of same: chessgames.com chessforum Perhaps you didn't realise then that I was accepting the offer, just declining the requirement to send an email (for security purposes). |

<Perhaps you didn't realise then that I was accepting the offer, just declining the requirement to send an email (for security purposes).> Oh I'm dead certain <Daniel> did in fact realize this. Email him yourself to find out. "For security purposes" lol.
Protip: Cg already knows your IP address. Just create an email account that doesn't use your real name. Don't actually write "Adolf Hitler Jr." as your email name. Make up something fictional instead, such as "I'm not really a White Supremacist Jr." |

 | | MissScarlett: < Cg already knows your IP address.> It knows an IP address.
You better be careful what you say - as editor, I may choose to delete your posts. In a fit of pique, I could even delete the entire site. Protip - I'm joking. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Perhaps you didn't realise then that I was accepting the offer, just declining the requirement to send an email (for security purposes).> I completely did misunderstand your reservations, and if you want to request here I am delighted. Thank you--you'll find changing things yourself is not only quicker, but actually easier than filling out those slips. |
