Aug-30-18  zanzibar: Yes, <YifanFan>, agreed.

(And I'm almost done with my series of posts too!)

Aug-30-18  whiteshark: <chessgames.com> Can we get pages for the Russian Superfinals Men / Women

"The 71st Russian Championship Superfinal [Men] is taking place in Satka from 25th August to the 5th September 2018. The event is a 12-player round-robin... The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves then 30 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. ...

Official website: ruchess.ru "

TIA

Aug-30-18  JimNorCal: Don't forget the British Championship from this year.

We have some games from the event annotated by GM Keene.

Aug-30-18  zanzibar: RE: <CG tournaments - tid>

Researching the history of <CG>, I got to wondering what was the first tournament officially featured on <CG>?

I still don't know the answer, but it dovetails a little with the discussion <Switch> and I were having.

Now, <CG> tournaments start at tid=10000.

1 (1900)

It has the name, <1 (1900)>, but note that none of the games it contains are from 1900 (?!?).

How these games came to be grouped together is truly baffling, other then the Event/Location field = <1>. Still, the Date field is entirely neglected, which certainly makes whatever filtering done once upon a time pretty much useless.

As is, the tid is virtually useless (please, correct me otherwise, if possible).

<CG> should add the Event/Location fields used by all other db's to its search filter.

But otherwise, the games should just go into a general pool to await proper assignment to a tournament (i.e. tid).

Aug-31-18  Big Pawn: <Zanzibar> is like <Nizzle>, just endlessly spamming these long posts to nobody but himself. When <Daniel> was alive, he would respond to any technical questions or suggestions, but now, whoever is in charge, they are not answering <Zanzibar>.

Yet, <Zanzibar> keeps posting as if he's <not> talking to himself.

Hey <Zanzibar>, why don't you shut your pie hole and give it a rest for a while, eh? The reason no one is talking back with you is because you're obviously not important.

Take a hint and do us all a favor by shutting up.

Aug-31-18  zanzibar: Speaking of virtually useless...

What, what!?

Premium Chessgames Member tpstar: <Bureaucrat> Welcome to the new and improved Wesley So page with the pro-Wesley WSFFCI contingent supporting him all the way and the anti-Wesley faction gone. This player page is meant for free sharing of opinions without censorship or intolerance, in the context of the Posting Guidelines. >

I hope that "free sharing of opinions without censorship or intolerance" leaves space for commentary which is not simply praise of Wesley So. I and others have been banned from that page by So or a representative simply for sharing opinions, without being offensive in any way.

Sep-01-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: <I and others have been banned from that page by So or a representative simply for sharing opinions, without being offensive in any way.>

I agree with Jim. I don't know whether you've allowed <tpstar> to administrate that page but it appears to me that <all> of his perceived enemies get banned. You should probably fix that.

New administration, new rules. Jim did nothing wrong on the So page, I doubt Wesley's pathetic enough to ban everyone who <tpstar> doesn't like, I'd like to hear if Daniel gave tpstar the nod to watch over that page - because he's always there lecturing!

Sep-01-18  Big Pawn: The website untermensch shall not harass the beloved Christian Grandmaster Wesley So. This website was not created with the intention of harassing the Grandmasters who visit their profile pages.

The <tuna> is an infamous troll who has been banned from other websites as well. Just ask him.

If <tpstar> is the moderator of the Wesley So page, then I think he's a perfect choice for it. He's fair, he's a dedicated chess enthusiast and remains largely above the fray.

Life is fair.
Life is good.

1. I have never harassed Wesley So.

2. I have never been banned from other websites.

3. About two months ago DF said the Wesley So player page should function both as a fan page and as a page for serious page for commentary and analysis.

Sep-01-18  Pyke: <Untermensch>? Really?! A term used by the atheist Nietzsche to describe idiots who believed in god. Now that is ironic.

Also, of course the Nazis used that term quite heavily, which is going to show what kind of person <Big Pawn> really is.

saffuna: <pyke> If you don't read <big pawn> everywhere he posts, you may not know he claims Michelle Obama is a man. That's the type of person you are dealing with.
Sep-01-18  Big Pawn: <2. I have never been banned from other websites.>

I will rephrase my comment then. You were blocked from the Pamela Geller YouTube channel.

Because you are a troll.

And you were banished from the So page because you are a repeat offender.

Harassment of the GMs on their pages will not be tolerated. That would be idiotic.

Oh, that's right. About ten years ago. And how do you know that? Because I stated it on this website. Yes, I was making fun of Geller. What else can you do with a total nutcase like her?

<And you were banished from the So page because you are a repeat offender.>

Nobody knows why I was banned from the Wesley So page. I have a pretty good idea it was because I stated my opinion that the player bio should be historically accurate (it isn't), but I cannot be sure.

Sep-01-18  N0B0DY: <<N0B0DY> knows why I was banned from the Wesley So page.> for good reason

<Jim>, are you still in over your head, swimming around in the Genetic Fallacy? Are you still trying, after all these years, to invalidate a claim by invalidating the source of that claim?

Are you telling your fellow libtards, "You can dismiss everything Big Pawn says as false, because he thinks Big Mama Michelle is a man. Therefore, whatever he says is false"

Is that what you're saying?

Any normal person can look at Big Mama and see quite clearly that she looks like a man. Even Joan Rivers said she though Michelle was a transvestite.

It's an indication of the level of critical thinking that you typically apply. I think it helps others to know it.

Sep-01-18  Big Pawn: You didn't answer my question.

saffuna: Not what I am saying. But it's something recommended to keep in mind, that he's ready to believe the idiotic claim of it supports his point of view.

Well, at least I think it's idiotic. I leave it to others to decide for themselves whether Michelle Obama is a man.

Sep-01-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: <I leave it to others to decide for themselves whether Michelle Obama is a man.>

🤷. Big Pawn truly believes Michelle Obama is a dude, I killed the webmaster (!???!) and Donald Trump is sent from god! #GoFigure

Sep-01-18  rogge: <I leave it to others to decide for themselves whether Michelle Obama is a man> Someone's f..cking with your mind, <saff>.

You're admitting to something that's <impossible>. "Believe me believe me that I can tell you".

You can get <muted> (Sargon.. Take note) so only you and the channel admin can see your comments but it's completely impossible to get <banned> from a YouTube channel. Impossible! I know.

C'mon <Sargon??>. Check in bro :)
