Chessical: The site was down when I accessed it about 07:00 hrs. GMT today. Previous to this, about ten hours before, I was getting Server Overload warnings.

The site seems less stable recently, is there an explanation?

Feb-25-21  George Wallace: Isn't there a way to automate the puzzle of the day? Wouldn't it be helpful if members could tag a game that they think would be suitable for a puzzle?

"Looks like this one would be a great Thursday puzzle..." and then tag it with whatever tag is suitable for "Thursday puzzle" ?

Then when you have a couple thousand of these in your database, you never have to worry about it again.

Has <Site Ownership> considered this possibility, or, has anyone suggested this already?

WOW! (Same person). Jim has nearly 100,000 posts! WOW!!

I think some sort of site-wide recognition is in order. Maybe a token award of some kind.

What does everyone think?

ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND POSTS!!!

That's amazing.

Congratulations <Jim>!!!

Feb-25-21  Keyser Soze: <GW> Indeed. He deserves a medal

Compare:

Winston Churchill Doby (kibitz #12)

with:

chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #35253)

They don't call him <George (the coddlefish) Wallace> for nothing!

PS- looks like the dog-pack is down to one (woof woof!)

That's a good slobber, <KS>, good boy!

As far as addictions go, I suppose it's better than alcoholism or smoking crack.

Feb-25-21  Keyser Soze: <I suppose it's better than alcoholism or smoking crack>

Better for who?

Not for us.. Alcoholics and dopers are also a pain in the arse. lol

Feb-25-21  Keyser Soze: hey <zambibore> ! How's life treating you, bro?

Still waiting for a < new> management change?

Stil fancies calling the shots around here?

Still barking for Susan's attention, poodle?

Tough luck buttercup.

Feb-25-21  Z legend 000000001: I'm on restricted kibitzing for posts like this:

Biographer Bistro (kibitz #21666)

whereas others are given free reign to troll on the <CG> forum:

(Georgie's post being deleted, we're forced to take 2nd best)

Shame.

<Chessical>

I also noticed that cg.com was indeed down last night in PST time zone.

I sent an email to <Stephen> asking about this.

WannaBe: But it was up and running in the European Central Time Zone. 😂😜🤣🤷‍♂️😁
Feb-25-21  Ybr: <saffuna: <keyser> I'm trying to be polite>

Yes, because you have maturity/grace whereas <keyser soze> is showing bad manners/abusiveness , to put it mildly.

2) number of posts that you have made is nobody's business , just your business alone.

WannaBe: <JFQ> No, I was teasing you (and your post) that CG.com was only "down" if you were in Pacific Time Zone, but it was up everywhere else. =)

Willber G: I wonder what the record is for the most number of sock puppets. Perhaps one of these could enlighten us:

<Mrs Butterworth>, <Hungry Jack>, <In the Woodpile>, <Big Pawn>, <Mohammed Speaks>, <OhioLiberalFan>, <Cassandro>, <The Kingfish>, <George Wallace>, <thegoodneega>, et al.

But the question is, who is the sock and who is the hand?

Well, there's no denying it's kind of comical.

Feb-25-21  George Wallace: It's everybody's business because it's made public on the site.

I just think there should be some kind of official celebration.

Feb-25-21  Caissanist: The profile for this account still says to email Annie for DB/admin problems. Perhaps this needs to be updated.

Knowing how "fast" things get done around here, faster to bring Annie back, instead.

Feb-25-21  George Wallace: Nothing was working when <Annie> was here anyway. She spent most of her time chasing down Trump Supporters and banning them from the site, and little time on anything else.

In fact, the site is running better now without her here.

saffuna: I think we should also have a celebration when <big pawn><george wallace> hits fifteen sock puppet accounts.

That would probably break <tolengoy>'s record.
