jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

Jun-18-07  Ragh: <I suspect there is a name for <ECO C42>> It is Petrov Defense (c42) in general.
Jun-18-07  Ragh: <I suspect there is a name for <ECO C42>, and I bet a million bucks <Eyal or Dom or Niels> knows the name of it. For all we know, it might ALREADY be named the <Ragh Variation>!!>

LOL, I was only talking about one variation under Petrov, not supplanting the whole Petrov opening itself. No intentions of infuriating the ghost of Alexander Petrov.

Jun-18-07  Eyal: <Ack. The Dreaded Petroff!!!>

See Bishop's Opening (c24):

Koster: Anything to avoid the Petroff I guess.

ughaibu: 1.d4 is an easy way to avoid the Petroff.

mack: Surely not playing chess in the first place is the easiest way to avoid the Petroff?

Jun-18-07  Tactic101: RxN, I guess.
Jun-18-07  Tactic101: Ouch..... I think I see you chance. A little too late. You'll play, Rxh6+ (a move I thought impossible because of Kg7, forking the pieces), then Rd6! attacking my bishop. In the end, you're up a pawn.

Not over yet. I may be able to capture it back because of my king position. I'll just stop your pawn from safely advancing. Simple as that.

Jun-18-07  WBP: <Jess> Here's my 900th post (not including sock puppets), basically since mid-March. Didn't know I was that talkative.

Enjoying the trash-talking with <Ragh-abov>. And <Wilson's Window> was precious!

Working on a longish email.

Best, Bill

Jun-18-07  Ragh: <jess> 3..Nxe4. So, you dont want the pawn still..

jessicafischerqueen: <Simple as that.> I'm afraid not, my dear <Tactic>. I'm after <bigger game>. I have been the whole time.

I want your King. And your little dog, too.

I play <29.Bb3>

Jun-18-07  Eyal: <Why does my stupid <chessmaster> call <c24> a Petrov Opening????>

Well, <someone> here is obviously confusing C24 with C42...

Jun-18-07  Ragh: <jess> c42 = Petrov opening c24 = Bishop opening

42 is not same as 24. They are just palindromes; thats it.

Jun-18-07  Ragh: Thanks for your pawn offer. I refuse. <4..d5> and the attack starts.
Jun-18-07  Tactic101: Strong move. I'll get back to you soon.
Jun-18-07  Tactic101: The easiest thing I could do is to resign, but that will not happen. I'll fight on. Be8.
