Eggman: <<Hey JFQ>> Did you ever finish that postal game against <jrobichess>? I'd be curious to see it.

BTW, I'm very skeptical about Fischer's last words, which you quote above. I just don't trust the guru who is the source for that quote, and it just doesn't have the ring of truth.

Oct-16-08  klangenfarben: http://kr.youtube.com/watch?v=sgWiF... is my absolute favorite Gold Rush clip... when he offers the shoelaces, that's timeless stuff...

Oct-16-08  klangenfarben: History of the World Chess Championship is so at odds with the more historically accurate, warts and all accounting at wikipedia. Thankfully arrogance at the technical and historical level is a CG specialty, otherwise we plebes would be lost in a haze....

  jessicafischerqueen: <Eggman>!!

What a pleasant surprise to see you visit my house.

WELCOME!!

I have to say I'm really enjoying the spirited discussion on a variety of topics at the <WCC page>...

I'm finding it very stimulating-- lots of food for thought...

My good friend Eyal chessforum voiced the same skepticism about <Bobby's> last words.. and yet there was another guy on the <WCC thread> who claimed to have the article that is the source for the quote.

I admit I am also skeptical-- But I put it in there anyway.

Like all <fanatical Fischer> fans, I suppose, I have to deal with his craziness, and not just his post-1972 craziness.

I'd just prefer to remember how he was in that <Dick Cavett> interview I have posted in my profile (courtesy of KlangenFarben).

The posted "last words" do sound apocryphal, "too good to be true."

I'm leaving them there in the spirit of Jake Barnes' last line in Hemingway's finest novel <The Sun Also Rises>

<Isn't it <<<pretty>>> to think so>.

Finally, I encourage you to visit our "home base" forum.

This is <Domdaniel>, the gentleman I alluded to in our discussion about <Dawkins>.

He is also a fan of the "Doc" (get it? ahahahah), and is always up for a discussion of his ideas.

We all hang out at his place-- he is our "fearless leader."

I guarantee you will have fun there if you check it out:

I have no doubt that you have more interesting things in the queue than hanging aroung this place.

However, that said, rather a large bunch of us have a great deal of respect and affection for you , and appreciate the quality, humor, and historical value of your posts.

I for one would be very unhappy to have you leave us.

Oct-16-08  klangenfarben: <jfq> posts in my forum noted before deletion. I stand by my stand.

CG's conduct guides lead to Wikipedia's conduct guides, and I will take full responsibility for my own posts before assuming the diva label.

Though we have never communicated directly by e-mail, a mutual friend forwarded to you the one thing I did communicate to him (he deleted my contact info promptly per my request, and for that I thank H). I did find an e-mail address for you on this site, and will employ it when suitable.

Frankly, I don't think The Amateurs That Be have the brass to do the right thing. They have yet to show such stuff as of this writing.

Oh I forgot about your question in all the chesscitement.

Ok yes I did in fact finish two <correspondence> games with <J Robichess> as part of a http://www.letsplaychess.com/chessc... tournament which also included <Kingscrusher> and <Canstein>.

The latter two gentlemen are much stronger than me and <JRobichess>, and they creamed us.

But here are my two games with <JRobichess> in <PGN format>.

I just discovered last week that I can load any PGN game onto my <Shredder> interface and re-play it and analyze it.

And I've had <Shredder> for two years.

That's how intelligent and "chess engine savvy" I am.

OK here is Game One:

As you can see from the game scores and final positions, <JRobichess> is certainly not one who likes to "resign early".

Oct-16-08  klangenfarben: In one of the WCC videos you cite above, Spassky talks of Fischer playing "to the Kings" with mild astonishment. I can't fault RJF's ubercompetitiveness, and thus not <JRobichess>'s truculence.

  jessicafischerqueen: <I thank H>

And I also thank him.

He is a very wonderful man and a very wonderful <chess pen-pal correspondent> and I think the world of him.

He is a true blue friend.

Oct-16-08  klangenfarben: He's a little tight for my taste. To his credit, I haven't had a wisp of a cause to farb his klang, and there's few who have tangled with me that can make that claim faithfully.

  jessicafischerqueen: <KlangenFarben>

I don't mind players who play on to the end one bit either. And, as you well know, <Bobby Fischer> is my flame- he is the reason (through my Father) that I play chess in the first place-- that I am obsessed with chess-- that I dream of "creating art" on the board-- even just once, just one move even...

These are the full extent of my dreams.

I love chess and I love <Bobby Fischer's> chess in particular.

It's always a good thing to be forced to practice one's technique.

BTW, how will I know if you are <Farbing> my <Klang>?

I hope it's not painful!!

Oct-16-08  klangenfarben: lol i thought it was assumed that pain is the only pleasure, and there is no klang without farb ... it might have something to do with medical "science" taking thirty years to figure out i busted my back when i busted my left elbow in '78, or maybe it's just this darn cape giving me delusions of grandeur.

jessicafischerqueen: Heh- that's the <Droopy> Dog created by warner brothers cartoonists-- Or was it Hannah Barbara? I loved them all when I was a kid.

He is brilliant.

Do you remember the first episode he was ever in?

There was a character who kept trying to run away from <Droopy>, but no matter how hard he tried, <Droopy> would always appear right in front of him.

This went on and on in the Cartoon until it became genuinely terrifying.

It has scarred me to this day.

Luckily, I love Halloween-- I don't love pain, but I certainly love being scared

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ghost sounds... I'm throwing my students a Halloween party again this year.

IT'S MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY!!!

i'm sorry you busted your back and elbow.

Chronic pain is no joke-- I will attempt to send analgesic thoughts through the air...

Well I can try anyways.

Here goes...

Eggman: I'm all in favour of playing out to the bitter end (never know when you can sac a Rook or Queen for stalemate), but in correspondence chess it's another matter to play on down a piece plus. But jrobichess claims to have started only about 15 months ago, so who can blame him, really.

  jessicafischerqueen: Hi <Eggman>!

Certainly not me. I'm a subscriber to his <youtube chess channel>, as well as to all the others at <letsplaychess.com>.

My favorite channels there are <kingscrusher>, <majnu>, and <canstein>.

All three of them are top Class A Club players-- bona fide experts on the cusp of getting potential Master's norms.

At any rate, they all three have a few <IM> scalps on their belt.

You can find their <youtube> channels just by typing their names in the search box.

I'm glad to have met you, and argued with you as well.

Carry on!

Oct-16-08  hms123: <jess> got it--but am now off to work. some of us don't get the Korean holidays. although at politically-correct universities everywhere we are supposed to "take into account" a laundry list of holidays that I never knew existed from religions that seem to have sprung up yesterday.

Yours,
