 | | jessicafischerqueen: <OBAMA WINS THE ELECTION>!! Yes, I"m calling it here from <South Korea>. Thanks to the <International Date Line>, it's tomorrow here already and all of the polling stations are closed. The "Hyunpoong Almanac" has already delcared a winner this morning. Hmm... I should start betting on stocks now due to the "early information factor"... |

The Giants Win the Pennant!
The Giants Win the Pennant!
The wha? Wrong decade, dammit.
Is the US growing up or is this some kind of anti-red state tantrum? Well, at worst we finally made it to the terrible twos. |

| Nov-04-08 | | Boomie: <Jessie Ross: Flagging Patriot> McCain's concession speech is the best thing he's done so far. A bit late, what? Now if he just had those writers during the campaign, this could have been an alley fight. |

<Sarah Palin> is the most hideous monstrous cementhead in the history of American politics. Makes that guy what's his name- you know the dumb guy.... er.... George Bush the first's vice pres
QUAIL!! Dan Quail-
Look like a genius.
<Palin's> idea of a great last minute campaign strategy was to advocate shutting down all scientific research. I suppose she "reasoned" if she got her way people might forget to remind her that THE EARTH IS NOT 4000 YEARS OLD YOU BLITHERING IDIOT AND MAYBE YOU COULD LIGHTEN UP ON THE LIPSTICK AND YOUR HEAD WOULDN'T LOOK SO MUCH LIKE A GIANT BLOCK OF WOOD??? My God what a hideous woman. Makes Thatcher look like a model. I hope she dies of shame.
I really do.
If someone like that ever becomes VP or P in the US, the US will have become - officially-- the <stupidest country in the history of the world>. We Canadians are very, very releived that <Saddam Hussein Barack Osama Bin Laden> is your new king. |

I would have voted for him. But <Saddam Hussein> will still make a fine president. http://kr.youtube.com/watch?v=tThyr...
<Blessed, are they, <<<who>>>Smile from bodies free,
Seems to me like any other crowd,
Who are waiting, to be saved...
Wash away the past,
Moon, my long lost friend
Is smiling from above
Smiling o'er my tears
Come, we'll walk the path
To take us to my home,
Keep outside the night
The ice-cold knife is gone
To decorate the dead...
And each will find a home
And there will still be time..
For love...
Your are there...>

| Nov-06-08 | | BishopofBlunder: Dear <Jessica>,
Thank you for your interest in our electrical system. And thank you for your kind words for our new precedent. Many here feel the same as you. In fact, I cannot tell you how many times I have heard people on the street exclaim that Obama deserves to be electrocuted. Also, you are correct. The Earth is not 4000 years old. In fact, it is much older. But due to some well performed reconstructive surgery (spared no expense), it doesn't look a day over 3900. Merry Christmas.

I finally got a guy over 2000 again on Yahoo--
I waited almost 2 hours for the game too. I needed to really test my <theoretical novelty- 1.c4> against someone who actually knows how to play chess and I refuse to settle for my stinking computer as a playing "partner". So today I decided to wait.... AND I MISSED A WIN
sob
I outplayed him in the opening- English-- and I booted a winning move in the middle game. I HAD A WON GAME according to my <SHrubby>.... I'm looking at my losing move right now...
I had A 2.33 pawn advantage when I so carefully selected the losing move... ARCHHHHHHHGHHGHGHG
OH THE HUMANITY
the agony and the ecstasy---
exhilirating game though.
I finally got to test the English against a very tough player (in relation to me). His record was 138 wins and only 14 losses...
And he was a real gentleman.
He said "Saludos" at the end and told me in Spanish that he enjoyed the game. WELL THAT'S ONE OF US...
heh
Actually I don't mind so much losing to him in this case. I feel like I've been run through with a spear.
However, I feel that I've earned the right-- today at least-- to be carried home on my shield. Mrs. Amazon (defeated)

Heh - sorry to hear that... Did he play the <Agincourt Defense> to your English? (No joke - see Kasparov vs Karpov, 1987) |
|
| Nov-08-08 | | Woody Wood Pusher: <His record was 138 wins and only 14 losses... > That is some record!
I'm curious <JFQ>, +2.33 is a big advantage, were you a piece up? Or did you have a hidden tactic that the computer saw was available? Was this a positional advantage?
P.S. The local Shaman has inspected the warrior's body and seeing as all wounds are on the front he assures everyone your soul is in Valhalla. Unlike Petroff players, who are cursed to an eternity of sorrow and get buried behind the village McDonald's. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Ack thanks gentlemen.
<Eyal and The Way of the Wood> for your kind inquiries. No, it wasn't <The Battle of Agincourt> defence. <1...e5>
Plus 2.33=
A pawn up for me and he had two isolated pawns--
Plus my better piece activity and yes there was a winning move== actually winning MOVES more like it, but not a spectacular tactic. Actually he had such limited counterplay that almost any move was OK except the one I actually made. I'm so freaking angry with myself I've been thinking about this position all day... I had connected c-d-e pawns as well- total command of the center and I had his kingide flank attack under controI-- I had a winning position. i'm too embarrassed to post it.
DAD9)()(*)(*()*)(*)(*)(&*&(*&
I hate losing.
Actually this kind of loss is OK (in theory!! that is)-- cuz i spent so much time with it and my computer after-- i believe I lost due to a failure of psychological nerve-- knowing I had the advantage against a guy 200 points higher than me... I accurately judged my position to be winning and thought-- "don't blow it now"-- Instead of
"What is the most accurate way to proceed from here, objectively". A bitter lesson...
But it's better for me to face this kind of opponent than the ones I've been getting and thumping for weeks. <Tal> said he remebmered his losses, not his wins. he said they haunted and tortured him in his dreams.
And he seemed like such an easy going chap!!
Chess is a stern mistress.
Kasparov had to "vomit up" his losses...
Fred Watzkin reports that Kasparov descended into a hellish period of self-loathing and obsessive analysis following a loss. Interestingly, patzers seem to have similar psychological experiences to World Champions. I'll never even be the ghost of those two players but i understand the psychology of losing. Personally.
JAWS iv THE REVENGE- THIS TIME IT'S PERSONAL (starring Michael Caine). Just wait till next time.
I have a headache now. |

|
| Nov-08-08 | | WBP: Hi <Jess> God, sounds like a really tough loss. Congratulations, though, on outplaying him up to the point where you blundered. He most certainly was aware who was winning. <Kasparov had to "vomit up" his losses...> Too bad we can't make Wall Street do the same. |
