The cat was only away for a day, but <THE MICE> seem to have taken full advantage-- including "speculative fake URLs," always a sign of mischief...

Well we all get giddy around this most special of seasons:

Christmas, and the <Coveted and prestigious CASSIAR AWARDS>

(I call them the <MannBee> awards but <MannBee> told me to stop doing that).

MANBEE!!!

I'll get you for this..

Thanks for all the <Prestigious and Coveted SISSY AWARD nominations>!!

I hope I can win <best profile> this year, although in all honesty I have to say that <Mal's> forum is stronger than mine.

They can be compared in a sense, since they both are mainly devoted to linking <chess history/analysis/> web resources...

But he has all of those personal reminiscences as well.

I DON'T HAVE ANY!!

I haven't met one famous chess player.

Although I'm a pen pal of Irish Phenomenon <Gerry McCarthy>.

He will be featured in this year's <Easter Bunratty Tournament of the Chess Stars> again.

I predict victory...

Dec-03-08  Woody Wood Pusher: <JFQ><But he has all of those personal reminiscences as well.

Well, you could always sprinkle a bit of fairy dust on the keyboard....and hey presto! A whole bunch of humorous reminiscences courtesy of your imagination!

It can be so hard to tell truth from fiction on the internet.

PLUS we have to remember that <WINNING IS WHAT MATTERS!>

If you have to drop the chess-blogging equivalent of the A-Bomb to do it, then it's worth it!

I would have to give some thought as to the exact contents of a story that would win you universal approval, but if you want an example of the antithesis of this then I wrote a great little piece on the Kramnik page a while back.

I think it went along the lines of me being born in Russia and playing Kramnik in a simultaneous exhibition.

He had white, and I had played the Alekhine defense. After a tense middle-game I saw a tactic he had overlooked.

But as my hand went to move the knight to begin the forced winning sequence he approached the board and, behind his inch think and heavily fogged glasses, I saw his eyes widen with terror.

He did not say anything, but from that glance I knew if I were to beat him here, the humiliation would probably destroy his promising young career, so I took a deep breath and offered the draw, which he took instantly.

Naturally when he became WCC he had all records of this encounter destroyed.

hhahaha

Obviously the Kramnik die-hards didn't believe me, but they went absolutely berserk when a few kibbitzers passed through his page and congratulated me!

hahahahah

  jessicafischerqueen: <Woody Wood Whopper>

No, no it's the opposite. There will be <only> a parliament because the Liberals don't have anyone in their party who could manage a 7-11, let alone a country. There is in fact no <Prime Minister>.

Which is just as well.

The <Blockhead Quebecois> party seems to have forgotten that they want to destroy the country.

Vive le Quebec libre!!

GENIUS!

That is what we need here in Britain!

Vive la revolutione!

Dec-04-08  Boomie: <There is in fact no <Prime Minister>.>

Perhaps it's time for an Alternate Minister. After all, every PM should be followed by an AM.

Dec-05-08  Woody Wood Pusher: hey <JFQ> I posted your idea for a new award category in the Wannabe forum.

I still have next to no idea what it is about, but it sure would be funny if it got included!

hehehe

Dec-06-08  malthrope: Well, I've gone and done it! ;) What exactly has Mal done you might be asking yourself? I just posted a brand new special category in <WannaBe>'s chessforum for the Caissar awards! ~lol~

"Best Freakin' Time in a C-Forum"

This concept came up when <Eyal> posted a cute combo stumper from a game. Then <JFQ>, <achieve>, <Eyal> and I just had a grand ol' time with a mayhem of analysis, fun and laughs that lasted 4 freakin' pages in total (Nov 13th-16th) when we finally stopped chatting about it. ~lol~ This all took place in <JFQ>'s chessforum and started on page 464 (Nov 13th) with <Eyal>'s post of the combo diagram. Here is the direct link to the page that started it all off - jessicafischerqueen chessforum

Jess would, of course, be my nomination for this special category! :))

BTW: I've rounded up all the suggestions of newly created Caissar award categories and posted them in my chessforum. Anyone and everyone is welcome to make comments! :)

BLOODY GOOD SHOW!!

Btw, given the number of nominations you've recieved for <Best Profile>, I'm hoping the actual vote is a shoe in.

I will be lobbying strongly for the result.

If you win, <CG.com> will probably have to give you <even more> "bit space."

heh
