<Eden Hozzard>

Why do they call them scousers? Does that mean "cleaning ladies" in Cockney rhyming slang?

Your Derby seems to have a fierce tradition! I can tell you I'm looking forward to two weekends' ago London Derby <Spurs v Blues> (no spoilers please), which I'll be watching this Sunday.

Why do they spell it "Derby" instead of "Darby" brah.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed by <The Wailing>. It was criticized here in Korea for being too hard to understand, but I never mind that in a horror movie. The lead actor is terrific- he plays a befuddled policeman and family man.

Twas in the year of our Lord Feptember, Fix Fixteen Fixty Fix...

Jose Feliznavitado, nice choice. An excellent guitarist and a voice somewhat reminiscent of Van Morrison, which puts him near Fra. Dom's monastery.

Dec-09-16  Alien Math: Found it interesting that EXO's 'Monster' is chosen as one of the best songs of 2016 by Fuse TV http://www.allkpop.com/article/2016...

Domdaniel: <Jeff> They call 'em Scousers because traditionally they ate a stew called scouse. The accent is like a semi-rhotic Dublin accent, quite different to others in the north of England.

José Feliciano is the bee's knees eh? I just can't get enough of them. After I posted him last night I watched this entire concert here, highly recommended:

<Maradona's Hanhd of God goal vs. England>

This may sound politically incorrect, but I can't get into any of the boy idol groups such as EXO or BEAST because the lads have such an effeminate style it puts me off.

For similar reasons, although I like glam rock music from T-Rex or David Bowie, I don't like to look at the videos. I just don't like the clothes or haircuts.

Shoot me!

<Dom> Thank you! Now that's interesting. I'd like to try some of that SCOUSE SOUP but I don't think we have the vegatable rhotic in Canada.

Is it related to the rhoticbaga? We have that.

How do The Arse pronounce "Derby"?

DORBY amirite. I'm still wondering why Poms pronounce it "darby." Why don't they just spell it "darby"?

I need to know...

Dec-09-16  crawfb5: I sent you an email with some non-chess news, but am not sure it transmitted properly.

<Dom> what do you think about the films of Tarr Béla? I have seen all of his work that I could find that is available with English subtitles. I can't get enough of him myself. The most recent one I saw was TURIN HORSE.

Did you write about any of his movies? Did you meet him?

<Tapestry> Great track, I never heard that before.

Possibly the lyrical quality of <Zeppelin> is not remembered often enough, the English folk influences that are married to the blues rock base.

<Paige> is an awesome acoustic guitar player eh? And <Plant's> voice full of soul, as always.

This is one of my favorite live performances from <Zeppelin>: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW_...

Dec-10-16  Travis Bickle: Jess, I think Kasmir is Zeppelin's greatest song! Stairway to Heaven gets the nod as their best effort but the radio stations played it to death. I can't listen to it anymore.

Page was a great guitar player! He could play acoustic with the best of them but also being the only guitarist in the band he had a unique style of playing lead guitar mixed with rhythm guitar as well.

Dec-10-16  Travis Bickle: Lady Jess Queen of Fischer, check out this Kool video I found.. It's Sir Paul doing a voiceover talking about 1 of The Beatles most famous videos!

  Domdaniel: <Jess> 'Dorby' is Purrfeck.

As for Bela Tarr, nope. Never met, don't think I've seen anything. In fact the last Magyar movie director I recall is Jansco, and that was years ago.
