Jan-06-09  hms123: <jess> How are you doing? Woody might have a point about the spider--it is worth checking if possible.
Jan-06-09  Ragh: <Jess> I hope you'll be live 'n' kickin' for some partying by the dawn on Friday. Anyway, here's advance wishes..

Wish you a Happy Birthday 2009!

Jan-07-09  chessmoron: OK I saw "The Alphabet Killers." Good but still not interesting. A bit confusing.
Jan-07-09  brankat: <chessmoron> Hi Wilson. What happened with Your Forum?
Jan-07-09  Woody Wood Pusher: <JFQ> I'm going through MSMG and it is a really great read!

I don't doubt how familiar you are with it's contents, but this quote just made me laugh

Fischer on his game with Larsen 1958

'Now I felt like the game was in the bag if I didn't botch it. I'd won dozens of skittles games in analogous positions and had it down to a science: pry open the h-file, sac, sac...mate!'

hahaha

What a character!

Jan-07-09  hms123: <jess> The puzzle of the day A Stukopin vs B Hasenohr, 2008 features another Arabian mate as the underlying threat.
Jan-07-09  Eyal: <Now I felt like the game was in the bag if I didn't botch it. I'd won dozens of skittles games in analogous positions and had it down to a science: pry open the h-file, sac, sac...mate!>

And in the notes to Fischer vs Gligoric, 1959 he says on 26.Rxh5 <I've made this sacrifice so often, I feel like applying for a patent> (though, interestingly, in this game he actually missed an opportunity to decide the game with the same sac 3 moves earlier). Fischer was really quite lethal against these Dragon setups - I think his career score with the Yugoslav Attack in classical tournament games was something like 10/12 .

Jan-07-09  Woody Wood Pusher: <JFQ> Get well soon!

C.G. isn't the same without you!

Jan-08-09  Woody Wood Pusher: <JFQ> If you read only one post today, go look at the position me and <mal> were looking at in my forum...

----<THE CHAOS LINE>---

Missing you!

Jan-09-09  Woody Wood Pusher: <JFQ> If Frank is holding you hostage, just quietly move over to the keyboard and discreetly type...

<I'M BEING HELD HOSTAGE BY FRANK CALL THE BLOODY POLICE!>

Domdaniel: <Jess> We miss you. This "flu" thing had better make itself scarce, sharpish, if it knows what's good for it.

Stonehenge: Warning: The following does *not* make any sense *at all*:

And this week on <How to do it> we're going to show you how to play the flute, how to split an atom, how to construct a box girder bridge, how to irrigate the Sahara Desert and make vast new areas of land cultivatable, but first, here's Jackie to tell you all how to rid the world of all known diseases.

Jackie: Hello, Alan.

Alan: Hello, Jackie.

Jackie: Well, first of all become a doctor and discover a marvellous cure for something, and then, when the medical profession really starts to take notice of you, you can jolly well tell them what to do and make sure they get everything right so there'll never be any diseases ever again.

Alan: Thanks, Jackie. Great idea.

Jan-09-09  Ragh: So, Jess, have you gotten any chance to venture outside to paint the town red for your birthday at all, or just a quite celebration at home along with an exclusive date with The Spiderman, of course.
Jan-10-09  hoodrobin: <jess> Jessica, please come back!
Jan-10-09  madlydeeply: Soup make floo go away. I tried it once and there it went.

The spider is wonderful because we share the same arch enemy the evil beech mosquito. Eats ''em up yum yum.

See I think of you

Good luck. Oh geez I just realized since you're in Asia you have the dreaded Asiatic FLoo?! Oh Jesus no.

Actually I know nothing about the Asiatic FLoo. So Don't be alarmed.

ciao

Jan-10-09  Woody Wood Pusher: If you don't come back soon <JFQ> I may have to book a flight to Korea. And I'm packing a really big newspaper for Frank!
Jan-10-09  malthrope: <Woody Wood Pusher: If you don't come back soon <JFQ> I may have to book a flight to Korea. And I'm packing a really big newspaper for Frank!>

Woody - I'd be very careful if I was you... ;) Best to take every conceivable precaution. As, Frank is a very intelligent and massive spider. He just might be able to take that newspaper and turn the tables as he smacks you with it! ~lol~

Jess - we all hope things are better - health wise - in all respects. We think of You everyday! :))

Jan-10-09  Woody Wood Pusher: <mal><As, Frank is a very intelligent and massive spider. He just might be able to take that newspaper and turn the tables as he smacks you with it! ~lol~>

hahaha

Frank can have the paper, and I'll keep the brick and broken bottle I've got inside it!

hehe

Jan-10-09  malthrope: <WWP: Frank can have the paper, and I'll keep the brick and broken bottle I've got inside it!

hehe>

You clever devil! ;) I'm so glad that I added <"Woody - I'd be very careful if I was you... ;) Best to take every conceivable precaution."> A very nice 3-mover combination Woody! :^)

Domdaniel: So, like, what do we know about Frank?

He's possibly got a lot of legs. He allegedly drips poison. He has a thing about newspapers. He has kept dear, sweet <Jessica> horizontal for days.

He sounds like a <tabloid editor>.

HAHAHAHA

Don't forget we know he prefers a diet of flies and other bugs....

So maybe a <French tabloid editor>

Jan-11-09  madlydeeply: Where is the lass. Now I'm one of the worried ones too. It better just be the flu I don't need any terrible surprises. How much is a ticket to SK anyway. Brankat has to go he's the closest to her in Vancouver.

Domdaniel: Jess is alive and well-ish. That's official. <Frogspawn> has had news.

Felines at the ready, everyone. <Woodster>, if you'd just get Mr Pickles into position, thank you. Everybody ready?

Let us spray.
