jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

Domdaniel: < Are you going to be dancing on top of a train during the Battle of the Bulgarse ?> Me, I'd love to. But you can't go more than a kilometre or three by rail in this country without passing under a low bridge. The results, from ducking to decapitation, tend to interfere with dance routines.

It *can* be done, however. See Sean Connery in <The First Great Train Robbery> for an example.

Apr-25-10  BishopofBlunder: <My Dear Queen>

It is indeed I on ewe tube.

Ah yes, you are correct. Bob Hoskins, Mozart, I always get those two confused. I just have to remember that Mozart was the one in the movie "Pink Floyd's The Wall" (Pink's manager).

Apr-25-10  Boomie: <Jessie Roo: Boomie at the Boobies>

This will be my last boobie recommendation. Until my next one.

New Tricks - A squad of geriatric poms heat up the cold case file. Excellent acting, writing, in short, everything that makes British telly great.

Domdaniel: I'm persuaded already. Time to pay homage to the Dude. Man.

OK, here's the pitch. A sinister Bulgarian chess entrepreneur -- please stay awake just a moment longer, Mr Warnerbros -- discovers a secret cache of poisoned umbrellas left over from the cold war. But his plans are mistakenly sent to another guy with the same name, a laid-back chess surfer ...

Yes, Mr W. Chess surfing is the number one sport in Europe right now, and rising fast in American hotspots. They even have it in Canada.

Apr-26-10  achieve: Tell me this is a *very* great gamecollection, *trĂ©s* appropriate re game #2 of current WC Handy match, *and* very funny introduction and profile (which I just now read for the first time - Doh!)

jessicafischerqueen: <Dr.> yes- to be sure. The good "P B and J" dropped that collection in this very forum when he made it.

I thought the phony player was real for SEVERAL DAYS.

jessicafischerqueen: Speaking of CG.com history, did you know it was *Dom* who *popularized* using these little *star* thingies to show *emphasis*?

I'm not sure but before his discovery you had to SHOUT to show EMPHASIS, a *method* I STILL FAVOR.

*ODDLY* when you *combine* the TWO METHODS the *result* is less *effective* than EITHER OF THEM *alone*.

???

jessicafischerqueen: <Niels> this DIRP game has extensive, and excellent, notes and plenty of FENS from <notyetagm> A Dunkelblum vs Keres, 1937
Apr-26-10  achieve: ??? indeed !!

But I have an explanation: you CANNOT combine both a BOMBASTIC- as well as a subtle, more *elegant* way to convey emphasis. . . They will become "self defeating" because of their opposing nature, as it were...

That is the *only* sensible thing I have to say on this "matter"... Dom, however, unfortunately has also been mixing in the asterisks with quotation mark use, of which I am LESS FOND

Apr-26-10  achieve: JINX!! (ahhhh - the fine ole caps...)

Tks for the link; meanwhile - I want to alert you to a rather fine YT analysis by KC in 2 pts on Topa-Granand #1 = as he employs some very nice expression, something like: "Both rooks now have a *lust* to meat eachother at <c7>..."

Not quite, KC said it better, waay better... Check out clip 2 if you get the chance

Apr-26-10  achieve: The <Darkflower-Keres> game has found its way into <8>!! - EIGHT - notyetagm gamecollections... Might be a record, but I doubt it while I type this, because Magnus the Invincible has been quite the favourite of <nygm> these past few years... Corker of a game btw
Apr-26-10  achieve: did I type... *meat*... eachother??

OUCH - that really hurts... Happens to the best, I'm told...
