jessicafischerqueen: Yes I'm familiar with the <MannBee> gambit- although I do have to point out it was first essayed in 9 BC in game three of <Flintstone-Rubble>, Bedrock Championship.

Jan-19-11  TheFocus: Wow, <jess>!! I was at the Bedrock Championship!

It all came down to Flintstone with a large rock and two smaller rocks against Rubble's large piece of a stick and a leaf and a small rock. Rubble sacrificed his leaf to get a passed small rock and promoted it to a large piece of flint a few moves later and the crowd went wild!

That was REAL caveman chess.

That night we partied like Neanderthals.

OhioChessFan: Per the monkey contestant in the moves ranker contest, I think it would be pretty useless. Whereas in a contest where you pick one of only 3 choices, win, lose draw, as in <YouRang> forum, with a decent shot of lucking upon a winner, to pick any number of moves decreases dramatically the chance the monkey might stumble on to a winning option. I guess you could limit the number of moves from say 10-100, but still would face the problem of it picking say, Anand losing with White in 10 moves, or Kramnik drawing in 100 moves. I don't think chessmoron uses software to score either, just by hand, so it would be a lot of work.

Phony Benoni: <The Focus> Sounds like they had a pretty strong team. I'll bet a lot of opponents were beaten by the Bedrock Chess Club.
Jan-20-11  TheFocus: At the Bedrock Championship every game was played out to "crush them all". The only drawing done was on cave walls.

Fusilli: Hey, did you know that <Big Tuna>, what you usually call <crawfb5>, was one of the nicknames of a major Chicago mob boss? See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_A.... Are you trying to tell <C> somethin'?
