 | | Domdaniel: <Jess> I'm a bad correspondent too. We should not get together some time. Reuters can wait.
*Meanwhile, in occupied Paris, a pigeon strains at its little leash* Speakina which, I found an actual *squab* in my house. My RL house. Dunno how it got in, but it looked like a larnin'-to-fly baby pigeon. I picked it up tenderly, gently opened a window, and left it on the ledge outside. I presume something then ate it. Nature pink in tooth and claw, just like Disney said. |

Oct-16-11 | | achieve: EMU ALERT -
<Jess> I forwarded the ICC emu I mentioned at Brankat's, titled 'Candidate Carlsen' - next item is 'Kasparov Answers' - then just click the free vid and follow further instructions, which will be in the glove department of the car. Audio is bad with the nagging musoc and other noises in the background but worth a good listen, I think. |

Oct-16-11 | | Travis Bickle: Jess, I finally had a chance to watch your very well made film on RASHID NEZHMETDINOV! Very nice job! I liked the color pictures and all the historical settings and facts. You even answered my continous question of how a multiple brilliancy Prize winner did not acheive GM status. Most of all I thought your endding shot was Great! Bravo!! |

Oct-17-11 | | Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen and Thanh Phan> For Vienna music from Spielmann's time, how about Mahler or Strauss? Mahler was a key figure in the Viennese music scene. Strauss was just about the best composer during Spilemann's life. Although a German by birth, Strauss was a Viennese at heart and lived there for many years. They produced an enormous amount of work but I can think of less pleasant fates than to listen to it. I'm sure you'll find some perfect movie music there. Kubrick used Strauss's Thus Spake Zarathustra in 2001. I'm sure there are many such dramatic moments in Strauss. |

Oct-17-11 | | Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: <tim the wizard> Thanks, I've been building a MANASSA MAULER folder for some time, but the STRAWS were a good suggestion. I need good Kraut musik as well, as <The Musician> spent a great deal of time there as well as in WIENER.> You could contrast "hypermodern" muzak, perhaps rag time or jazz, with romantic pieces from one of the three Bs. Brahms is perhaps the music of the Morphy and Steinitz era. Ludwig Van and JS are timeless in a way. Their music can be applied to just about any era with effect. Of course, Mozart is the sound of Weenies though you can't go wrong with Haydn for that matter. |
