| Mar-24-12 | | PinnedPiece: <JFQ> Don't know if you saw these listed on Chessbase. Someone uploaded to Youtube, a pair of videos where Karpov analyzes Fischer-Spassky 1972 Game 3 (after the forfeit), and other comments: Part 1:

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <PinnedPiece> Good to see you again! Yes thank you for the heads up- But in fact it was me who uploaded those two videos about <Karpov on Fischer> onto my "chessdocumentary" channel. <Chessdocumentary> is my second youtube channel, which shows chess history videos that I didn't make myself: http://www.youtube.com/user/chessdo... Here's the latest video I uploaded on that channel, a 10 minute film about the Fischer-Spassky rematch by <Cathy Forbes>: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOwj... In addition, this is my third youtube chess channel, which shows short film clips of past masters in action, including rare live footage of players such as <Efim Bogoljubow>, <Alekhine>, <Rubinstein>, and so on: http://www.youtube.com/user/alecksa... |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Switch> aha yes thanks. Perhaps the most unexplained aspect of my "Unexplained Science" youtube channel is why I started it in the first place: http://www.youtube.com/user/Unexpla... Also I don't know if you saw this one, but it's my fifth youtube channel featuring religious videos I made: http://www.youtube.com/user/devotio... |

| Mar-24-12 | | frogbert: <I don't play blitz against other humans for fear of my ego being crushed...> markfinan, then let's play an unrated 15 0 game. i just created a new account there as i couldn't figure out exactly which mail address the really old one (created in pre-fics times i think) was registered on - so i wasn't able to recover my old password (or get a new one without talking to the admins). it was easier to make a new one. frogbert there too. i play enough rated games (still) to give you a reasonable estimate of where you currently "are", i think. you can hardly dislike losing much more than my 8, soon 9 year old, so i think we'll manage. if you're better than me, then that certainly doesn't create any "ego problems" for me. :o) |
|
| Mar-24-12 | | MarkFinan: <Frogbert> Sense the irony and sarcasm in my "Huge ego" post?? I don't have that ego with people iv'e never met, and never will! I don't really have a chess related ego, i know im crap compared to most of you! And i only play on FICS when im messing around with an idea, or iv'e made a *direct* challenge to someone, (or drunk lol) and iv'e lost 150 rating points doing that!! Hell, my "ego" is even telling me to pipe down now.... So i will :) |
|
| Mar-24-12 | | brankat: If it is "unexplained" then it is not science.
<Switch> Has the wife healed? :-) <MarkF> I'm still waiting for You to make the move at <Memethecat>'s. Unless You resigned already :-) |
|
| Mar-24-12 | | MarkFinan: Okay, lets go Esco :) |
|
| Mar-24-12 | | frogbert: <Sense the irony and sarcasm in my "Huge ego" post??> you didn't find any irony in my mentioning of my 8 year old's dislike for losing? slightly on your expense, of course, but obviously meant in a friendly, jokingly way? btw, my 2.5 year old daughter thinks she's roughly as big as her 6 year older big brother. fear appears to be unknown to her. today she followed along to my son's football tournament, and while she was playing besides the field, 3 boys of around 9-10 years of age came walking and seemingly would occupy a little piece of the area where my daughter was playing. she promptly got up, walked over to the 3 big boys and told them that she had been there first and that she intended to keep playing there. then she turned around, seemingly content with having taken care of the intruders quickly and efficiently, went back and resumed whatever she had been doing. maybe i should be slightly worried about a developing ego problem there? ;o) anyway, it's become too late for playing chess today/tonight. but if you want to, we can play some games tomorrow evening instead. |

| Mar-25-12 | | brankat: Was it really that bad?? If so, I apologize. |

 | | kingscrusher: Jessica, you might like this video by IM Andrew Martin which he put on Youtube. The intro is particularly interesting for why Andrew thinks Fischer is arguably the greatest player of all time. Basically not being in any team - doing it all on his own: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7_1... |

| Mar-26-12 | | cormier: <<<<<<Is 7:10-14; 8:10> The LORD spoke to Ahaz, saying: Ask for a sign from the LORD, your God;
let it be deep as the nether world, or high as the sky!> But Ahaz answered,
"I will not ask! I will not tempt the LORD!"> Then Isaiah said:
Listen, O house of David!>
Is it not enough for you to weary people,
must you also weary my God?>
Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign:
the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son,
and shall name him Emmanuel,
which means "God is with us!"> |
|
| Mar-26-12 | | waustad: The Löwenfisch,G - Romanovsky,P [E12] game mentioned below is amazing. White is totally busted but pulls out an attractive cheapo. It is easy to see how Romanovsky missed the point. Protection usually doesn't come from behind the attacker. |
