 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Hanh> Thank you!
<Alekhine's Chess Lectures> indeed looks promising. I was able to find it, download it, and convert it to a word.doc in under 10 minutes, thanks to you. Now I'll be able paste blocks of it into the translator to see what's in there. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Hanh> I've had a top secret English translation of the <Shaburov> book for weeks. It's excellent. In addition, there are two editions with two different sets of black and white photos, many never published before- I have them all in my folder. The best news though is that there are no substantial conflicts of "fact vs. fiction" between <Shaburov>, <Averbakh>, <Voronkov>, <Donaldson and Minev>, <Fiala and Kalendovsky>, and, most importantly, <Edward Winter>. All of these historians work from primary sources. The German biography by <Mueller and Pavelczak> and all of <Kotovs'> stuff is riddled with errors, not to be trusted. I think <Kotov> used the German bio and just cribbed all of these tall tales, because they are reproduced in his biography of Alekhine. Unfortunately, these are the exact tales most repeated on the internet, and, sadly, repeated on Alekhine's player page here at our website. I'm at the point now where I'm reading and reading and I'm not seeing anything I haven't already heard about, which is a good place to be in terms of actually getting this documentary done. I started research on it in January. I'm already assembling and ordering materials on the video editor. I have around 12 hours worth of material, which I'll have to cut down to an hour and 20 minutes or nobody in their right mind would ever watch it. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Hanh> many points Chaschilin makes that need to be taken very seriously- unfortunately, it's also obvious that he is driven by a love for Alekhine so strong that he actually accuses <Francisco Lupi> of writing hateful things about Alekhine- when in fact, if you read <Lupi's> account (which is prefaced by the adviso that he can't remember it all exactly, dates and places and conversations)- it's obvious that <Lupi> loved Alekhine as much, or more, as anyone else who met him, and knew him. Chaschilin never met Alekhine.
Finally, it's fine that Chaschilin concludes that Alekhine was murdered- but he states this vehemently, as an incontrovertible fact. Even <Kevin Spraggett>, the most "pro murder scenario" writer *until now* warns us that his own theory on the "murder of Alekhine" is speculative and not to be taken as proven fact. That's bad history writing on Chaschilin's part- particularly since this long section of his article- which is interesting- by no means "proves" Alekhine was murdered. What a shame that someone who did so much work to look for primary sources (and the absences of some of those sources!) has rendered himself unreliable due to his passion for the subject. I don't know what it is about <Alekhine>. All who write about him, they all seem to love him with some kind of weird ferocity- and they are often jealous of their own conclusions and interpretations of <Alekhine's> life, the facts of his life and what those facts might signify. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <PGP> I did in fact create that short <Alekhine> video, but in this case "create" is a stretch- All I did was combine two pieces of live film with some footage from a Russian TV show and an interview with <Alekhine> and some music by <Faure>. Then I edited it down to its current length.
I feel hesitant to claim that I "created" anything in my videos except for the scripts I wrote for the three chess documentaries with <Richard> narrating. However, your support and encouragement means a lot to me, especially coming from a bona fide creator such as yourself. You didn't get where you are today by not writing the "Bell Mountain" series. |

I can think of several videos I've posted for you 2 or even 3 times because I forget I did it before. |
