jessicafischerqueen: <Mark> Well don't be too hard on him. I can't remember exactly what he posted last year but he definitely said that there were two different people posting under his account- and didn't he say at one point there were four?

So there's not much point arguing with an avatar when you don't know which one of the guys you are even talking to.

lol

Jul-27-12  MarkFinan: Lol ;)..

How can I be too hard on "Thebuttkicker"?
Don't want another one of them dying (RIP) ;)

jessicafischerqueen: <Mark> seriously, I urge you to let sleeping dogs lie. Notice that both <Mortimer's> and your responses to <AJ's> post in the admin forum were deleted today, but not mine?

That's because you and <Mortimer> were two of the folks who got suspended and the admins don't want those people starting up again. I have no idea why the admins didn't delete <AJ's> post, they should have. And then deleted mine as well.

The admins are in no mood to screw around these days with regard to Flame Wars.

At any rate, that's just a suggestion. I'm not trying to tell you what to do here, that's up to you.

Peace in the Valley is my unsolicited advice on this.

However, as far as I'm concerned we're mates no matter what you choose to post.

Jul-28-12  MarkFinan: Jess, my post regarding AJ was a valid point! He Is the only person to submit a complaint to another website about *this* website, then carried on paying for the privelage, and that *Is* ridiculous..

I'm not trying to start nothing up, If you read his forum there's a few lengthy posts attacking me, but I didn't respond once because I'm just not bothered about that guy as far as this website Is concerned..

However, next time I get round to sending/replying to emails I'l send you one and I'll tell you exactly what that man's done offsite regarding me over the past 2 months..

And to be honest I hadn't noticed the colonel had posted anything, but I'm pretty sure that like me, he too doesn't want Goldsby getting any benefits or power from this site..

Seriously, apart from the odd post of his I don't see much of him round this place anymore, nor do I want to (Although he can be funny sometimes!!)

As regards to Thefocus.... He came posting at real length In my forum Insulting me, then said he was dying, left, came back, said he was dying for sympathy once more, died, and now he's back again, and until he apologises, just like I have to certain people, then he'll get no love nor grace from me... This Is a guy who deleted the game collections he created for no other reason than to annoy people, you Included, before he died !!

Anyway, I don't plan on no flame wars ever again, I found the whole "Troop" thing pathetic, and parodied and mocked myself over It many a time, but If people give me It... Then they'll get It back.

I don't mind a bit of banter with anyone, as long as It Isn't on any game pages...

I don't say how saying "Hahahaha LOL" could offend anyone anyway! I'm so glad us English can laugh at ourselves though.

So no worries Jess, my Intentions aren't bad, and of course we're friends no matter what :)

jessicafischerqueen: Solid <Mark>, it's facts you post. A light heart is best as you say, can't get into much beefing with the "lols."

Anyways EMU would be welcome as always, we got things pretty good here these days.

Jul-28-12  Alien Math: Page search of Valery Chaschihin Валерий Чащихин site, Google searches for http://www.fishka-spb.ru/history/24

jessicafischerqueen: <Hanh> I looked at that article again today, Chaschihin has no credibility- he is too motivated by hatred of Soviet Union, love for Alekhine, thinks it's a fact Alekhine was murdered, all of his points are "negative"- he claims virtually all the letters. journals, Botvinnik's autobiography are forgeries and lies but supplies no actual proof.

It's garbage, all speculation based on bias. Not to be taken seriously.

lol we did find the same site, and I read it three times now.

Jul-28-12  Travis Bickle: Hello Yer Majesty! Did you ever get around to watching my 2 movie recommendations? Love & other Drugs starring Anne Hathaway & Jake Gyllenhaal. Also The Door in the Floor starring Jeff Bridges & Kim Basinger?

jessicafischerqueen: <T-Rex> not yet, but I did watch another of your recommendations "Lost in Translation" with Bill Murray.

I downloaded two other <T-bone> selections "Love and Other Drugs" and "Love Actually" but I haven't watched them yet.

I don't remember the <TBONEWALKER> recommendation of "Door in the Floor" so I downloaded it this morning.

So I have three <T-bone> selections to watch still.

harrylime: Did you watch the Olympic opening ceremony Jess?
Jul-28-12
Premium Chessgames Member
jessicafischerqueen: <Hazza> Well I have to confess the only thing less interesting to me than "The Oscars" is "The Olympics."

I'm not against great cinematic art or great athletic achievement. However, I can't stand the bourgeois, middle of the road, ham handed, 10th rate commentary, presentation, editing and so on.

I can't watch more than 20 seconds of that without puking.

The only exception to this was when I had access to the Canadian French TV coverage of the Olympics back home. For bicycle races and the marathon and such they stay on the race- almost no commentary- and they don't "cut away" to check up on some witless idiot in a studio every 10 seconds.

Also, the French channels in Quebec have much less advertising.

At any rate, I'm glad for you folks the Olympics are in London!

Jul-28-12  Travis Bickle: Dear Queen, I didn't recommend Love Actually so you can put that 1 to the back of the list lol! Lost In Translation is a very good movie but I had to watch it twice to really like it! Scarlett Johansson is just 19 in this role and plays convincingly a 21 year old lonely married woman.

jessicafischerqueen: Thanks <Hanh>- I already have every book in English on <Spielmann>. Better than that, I have a secret translation of Michael Ehn's definitive biography of <Spielmann>, published only in German so far.

Those photo links were good- I found out some information I didn't know about the photo of <Alekhine> I already had= but I didn't know the photo was from a blitz session, instead of one of the tournament games.

Picasweb I already had those <Alekhine> photos but I didn't have all the photos there (many with original captions) from <St. Petersburg 1909>.

Offer thanks for such good help in my research.

jessicafischerqueen: <Tbone> I loved "Lost in Translation" and Scarlett and Bill were brilliant I thought. Unusual film, the kind I like the best.
Jul-29-12  chessmoron: Re: "Lost in Translation"

The unknown Japanese woman in the film who tells Bill Murray's character to strip her pants is weird.

jessicafischerqueen: <McLovin!> Wonderful to see you, and makes sense to see you here in a film context. I miss your old film reviews.

I used to copy your exact format to make defamatory reviews of popular films.

I have to agree about the Japanese woman. Are all Japanese stars weird? If so, is this termed the "Yoko effect"?
