Congratulations on your 17th million post. Soon you will be King. <achieve: Seventeenhundred Thousand!!!
hehhh>
Apologies for late reply and also for not emuing yet= We didn't get any new segments done on the doc.
However I'll send off what we do have after a "test emu" tomorrow. I found this easy file transfer page- it appears to be a very simple way to send you parts of the movie? You just use it from your browser.
Here is the page- I just drag and drop the file and type in your emu address, I think- http://www.sharefest.me/
Anyways it's the weekend here so finally a break for me. But |
|
| Jul-12-13 | | achieve: <Jess> Yes - I noticed two principals were yanking at both your arms, and you grew tired of them, is this correct? for how long?
Good thing the weekend has arrived; I still have some business to take care of, my Friday has barely kicked off, so to speak. Filesharing never was this easy! heh - I almost can't believe it.... looking forward to the test bird. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Yes, for how long is the question of the day, as usual. Only 2 more hours till my weekend starts, sleeping first in order. It's hotter than a monkey's bum here?!
What's the weather like in the Mighty Nederlands?!
On another topic, I regard it worth getting to know <Tryfon> alone for his trademark?! Fawn pawns?! |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Niels> what was the exact original comment for the legendary phrase? It was boiling hot on Max Euwe Boulevard and you said something like "I just put my head in a bucket of ice water."
Was that it? Or |
|
| Jul-12-13 | | Thanh Phan: Glad you have some free time again ^.^ just found The Distinguished Gentleman (1992) Eddie Murphy - Full Movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNE4... Thought it was great, he plays in several good movies |
|
| Jul-12-13 | | achieve: <jessicafischerqueen: <Niels> what was the exact original comment for the legendary phrase?> Actually you are pretty close... I could look it up with the search function, but on the other hand I'd rather not, and stay in the present, hehe. Yes it was unbearably hot at the time, I said something like that I had dunked my head in a bucket of cold water, and that it had offered some relief, "but for how long?" But if time is just an illusion.... Anyway, just came from Boomie's house exploring the theme and it is mighty challenging, so my brain needs a bit of a break. Hhaha
heh

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Excellent. I will head over to lurk on the TOP SECRET discussion. In the mean "time," if you ever write an autobiography, wouldn't this be a great chapter title? <I just put my head in a bucket of ice water> Just one more comment- I watched <Stephen Hawking's> latest documentary and he does indeed say something close to "time is an illusion," in that it is only ever a subjective experience. He also says that if you leave your kitchen, you have no way of knowing if your kitchen table flew to Mars whilst you were away, and came back just in time to be there when you return to your kitchen. I also read a physics book aimed for the layman called <The Arrow of Time>, but I found it tough sledding. Possibly I should start with a physics book aimed for the "gal who does nothing but watch television" instead. |

In your forum to boot.
That is now over 5 years ago! - wrap your mind around that... <Time> All we need is sharp defining, and then consistent use of the terms... If that is missing those Th-Phs can, and will, literally drag you all the way across the fabric of the cosmos. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: heh... <rearch>
I'm just now enjoying your discussion, you've got some fine partners there with <DcGentle> and <FOR GOD'S SAKE GET OUT OF THE BUILDING IT'S A BOMB>. |

| Jul-12-13 | | achieve: A "rearch" is a special kind of search, may only be used once everyyyyy year I think. Yes - <DcGentle> is a very fine man, from Germany, and very polite, well-spoken, honest, and knowledgeable, and thus a great partner in conversation. |

 | | Phony Benoni: <JFQ> Revision of the History of the World Chess Championship introductions is certainly something the Bistro Bunch could work on. It's probably the next stage in our work anyway. At first, we were just rushing through tournaments willy-nilly to get as many done as possible. Now, we need to step back and revise our work to a higher quality. A few points that might be worth considering before plunging in: 1) The "Omnibus" file of revisions submitted in one shot is a very reasonable request, but co-ordinating the work so everything gets done in a timely manner could be tricky. 2) Would the work of revision be strictly individual, or do we want others to have a chance to contribute while one person overses? 3) If we do want to encourage cooperation, where will it take place? With 52 events to work on we can't go the individual forum route. It might be done in the Bistro, but work would tend to be lost. I'd like to see a more accessible repository of articles needing revision and checking. All of this is not meant to discourage what is an important and useful project, but simply to suggest some things to keep in mind while setting up the mechanism of revision. And, of course, I may be over-complicating the whole thing! Finally, I don't know how much I can promise to do. In the first place, I don't have a lot of good sources available, outside of what anybody can find on the Internet. More importantly, I've been stepping back from the Bistro for a while to work on projects of my own that have nothing to do with historical tournaments. I've noticed this kind of burnout in my nature before, so I'm not surprised. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Niels> TOP SECRET EMU sent.... I will soon be attempting to use the BROWSER BASED FILE SHARING THING to send you two copies of the Petrovs file- one with the Wagner music, one without the Wagner music. For your consideration... |
|
Jul-13-13
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Niels> IMPORTANT TOP SECRET Ok I've sent you two files using http://www.sharefest.me/. One is "Blue Elephant with Wagner" and the other is "Blue Elephant without Wagner." The thing is, I have to keep two browser windows open until you finish downloading each file. The files should appear in your email box, at your TOP SECRET gmail address. So please let me know via TOP SECRET emu when you've finished downloading each file? I didn't know I had to keep my browser tabs open to do this... Let's see how this goes. It might be easier in future to use the TOP SECRET site me and "Larry" use to share files, since I don't need to keep browser tabs open for that one. but |
