Great track by <The Doors>! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZl... I didn't even know this song existed. Very bluesy.
At first I thought it might be about people who were frightened by <Pete Townshend>, but then I changed my mind. |

Well I finished the 4000 page "Pink Floyd" biography on the plane ride back to Korea. Man <Roger Waters> was such an incredible tool eh? It's kind of ruining my enjoyment of his fine work even.> Jess, I don't know too much history on Pink Floyd. What was the problems with Roger Waters? |

The bloody Koreans won't let me look at the first two <BEATLES 50 year clips>, but they did allow me to look at this one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ7... Great stuff. <Mazza> still loves to perform, he's as fresh as the day he first stood in front of the stage eh? A few puzzles: Why is <John Wayne Gacy> playing drums for Paul here, instead of <Ringo> who is sitting in the audience?> Jess the way the Beatles Anniversary Special went was 1st other muscians performed their interpretation of Beatles songs then Ringo came onstage & did some numbers & then Paul. Finally at the end of the show Ringo joined Paul on stage on drums for the finale. |

Roger Waters was a very difficult man to deal with, even for his closest friends. He was arrogant and pushy- after the <Dark Side of the Moon> record made them all famous and rich, he started bossing everyone around. Only David Gilmour could stand up to him, for two reasons: Only Gilmour could sing well, especially live. In addition, Gilmour was actually the only member of the band who was an expert on his instrument. Eventually, Waters started referring to his bandmates as "the muffins" and he pushed more and more to have total artistic control over all matters. He got his way for a long time because he was the only person who kept writing songs and lyrics- and because, similar to Pete Townshend in the Who, he was the only one who could come up with grand visions for unified albums. <The Wall> was one of their greatest records, and every last bit of that idea, from the general concept down to the tiniest detail, was from Waters. But he underestimated the fans' love for the other band members. When Waters finally left the band, his solo records and tours only attracted a tiny fraction of the audience that Gilmour, Mason and Wright commanded with their records and tours. Here is one of Waters' best known compositions from <The Wall>- and, embarrassingly for drummer Nick Mason, he simply wasn't able to keep time properly for this track and they had to hire a session drummer: "Mother" live from Earl's Court, 1980:

Notice how concentrated and soulful Waters is performing this song-
Also, though Waters was notorious for singing out of tune on live gigs, on this particular night he was much better on the vocals than David Gilmour. I think Waters' heart was more in the project at this point. |

Although I agree with your earlier opinions on how great <Dark Side of the Moon> and <Wish you Were Here> are, I still like their earlier "psychotic-odelic" tracks the most- here is a fine live version of "Careful with that Axe Eugene." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpL...
I love the trippy Floyd I can tell you that. |

| Mar-07-14 | | Travis Bickle: Lady Jess, The Black Keys sound like Cream, Led Zepplin & Black Sabbath all rolled into! What a heavy band & with just 2 guys! I think they play with 2 more musicians now... Here's another great live tune! I Got Mine - The Black Keys

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <My Good Anarchist, Dak> Surely the best thing is to write one's own obituary? <John Keats> managed to do this- though I'm not sure if he arranged this before he died or if he did it as a ghost: "Here lies one whose name was writ in water." |
