  jessicafischerqueen: <Howdy Lee>!

I have to agree with you about <Travis>. People deliberately provoke him just to try to get him suspended. That's low.

Just low.

Thanks for dropping by. Please say hello to the Philippines for me.

Many of my students have visited or gone to school in your country, and they all like it better than their country. LOL!

This isn't a "discussion forum", it's my house ok?
There won't be any fighting in here, and certainly no piling on either.

<Travis> is my friend and I don't believe in "My enemy's friend is my enemy."

So kindly take your discussion of <Travis> elsewhere.

Possibly to the admin page ok?

<TheFocus> I will certainly delete your posts- you can repost them somewhere else.

Time and again I have told you my forum is not a place where any fighting is allowed.

I don't know where you find all this "forgotten" Doors material- but this UNIVERSAL MIND live track is great= http://youtu.be/ashTaoGrR2o

It's a kind of menacing Cabaret style and it suits Jim Morrison's voice, and his aesthetic, perfectly.

Reminds me a bit of <Tom Waits> in feel.

<Celebration of the Lizard> Heh- if all poetry shows were like that, maybe poetry would be more popular.

<Jim Morrison's> voice, rhythm and material reminds me of <Jack Kerouac>- at the start- and then he goes kind of manic, psychedelic. Unique and powerful.

Check this out by <Jack Kerouac>:

May-25-14  Travis Bickle: M'Lady, thank you for all the nice grooves you put on my forum! ; P

Here's a show closer from 'The Last Waltz' with Ron Wood, Ringo Starr & Bob Dylan. Here it has come full circle as 'The Band' was once Bob's back-up band!

P.S. Did you know that The Last Waltz was directed by Martin Scorsese?

I Shall Be Released

May-25-14  Jim Bartle: Error! Error! That jam was not the show closer. The Band playing "Don't Do It" was the last song.

Welcome back.

May-25-14  Travis Bickle: Thanks JB! I figured they had a few encores.

Thanks for that great song, which I'm listening to right now. I always wondered if <Bob> knew which way the earth rotated?

"From the West down to the East..."

But you know what, if anyone else had written this song, it would be their best song. But <Bob> has a hundred "It would be anyone else's best song."

Here is another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=af7n...

"Yonder stands your orphan, with his gun
Crying like a fire, in the sun"

  jessicafischerqueen:

<Jim> Fascinating.

I've seen "The Last Waltz" by Marty Scorcese twice, and I recall "I Shall Be Released" to be the last number (I call him "Marty" because I hang out with him and "Bob" whenever I'm in NYC).

Was "Don't Do It" the last song in just the concert itself, or was it also the closing song shown in the film?

May-25-14  Jim Bartle: Actually, <travis,> you may be correct technically. "I Shall Be Released" was the last programmed song.

Then most of the guests played a long and pretty boring jam. Finally the Band straggled out and played "Don't Do It," which for whatever reason was used as the opening of the movie.

Ever notice how all the cool Jap monsters have names that start with a "G"?

Godzirra
Ghidorah
Gamera
Grodan

Gamera even has his own theme song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b-o....

Loosely interpreted, the chorus is:

Gamera!
Gamera!
Gamera is really neat.
He is full of turtle meat.
How we love you Gamera!

Hi, Jess. I'm dropping into your house because ... because, I luv ya, as always, hon, OK? But the *immediate* motive is this: I just noticed a person in the Irish rating list named Jessica Mulqueen-Danaher ... small world, eh? Her rating appears to be about 420, but I'm sure it's on the way up ... like any Jessica-something-Queen ...
