<Beware of Mr. Baker> That is the best Rock documentary I ever saw in my life- thanks for the recommendation! I hope <Tdog> can see it too. Stevie Winwood- greatest soul singer in history: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_iL... Stevie Winwood on <Blind Faith>: "There was huge amounts of drugs... which at the time I'll have to admit I really didn't know about... because... I was probably smoking so much weed I didn't really know what was going on anyway..." |

| May-17-14 | | Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: JOHN BON DANIKEN. Part crappy rock star- part Godfather of alien theory.> Didn't he write "Chariots of the Dogs"?
Also he is the father of Ancient Alien Theory. His pyramid scheme has revolutionized the discipline. We wouldn't have know how to put rocks on top of other rocks if the aliens hadn't taught us. The Daniken theory of the pyramid is that it is thin at the corners, thick in the middle, and thin on top. Only aliens could create such a complicated shape. |

I never run out!
I don't even get out of bed unless somebody hands me a fifty dollar bill. The movie is on the internets- anybody can watch it on their computer at any time. It is a truly brilliant documentary. Whatever rave reviews you've seen are not wrong. Even if a person never heard of <Ginger Baker> or didn't care about music, they would likely still find this film to be brilliant. I don't know the names of any documentary awards, but this guy should win them all. I believe one of the main awards is called "The Dink"? I might be mistaken on that. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <"Poison Oak" brand Timpons> On a rare serious note, speaking of documentaries- I saw <Von Daniken> grinning, and admitting to a documentary film maker that he had made up the entire thing. He had never believed any of it himself.
I can't remember what documentary though- it was some years ago. I can tell you that <Von Daniken> rushed out *his* version of Chariots of the Gods whilst mine was still at the chemist's... |
|
| May-17-14 | | Shams: <jfq> I deleted my comment, as I remember in years past you've asked me not to make jokes like that. I found a link to the documentary online-- I'll watch it myself I think. Surprised to hear that about Von Daniken. My dad was into his theories. I wonder if EVD also made up the part about the Dogons supposedly having far advanced knowledge of astronomy? |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Shams> I mellowed eh? I do however appreciate your long memory and your inveterate civility. I wish I could remember the title of the show I saw <Von Daniken> "coming clean" on. It didn't have any effect on the legions of "believers" or other retards. Still doesn't.
Speaking of <Mockumentaries>, I recommend Werner Herzog's "Incident at Loch Ness." I defy anyone to figure out what, exactly, this film is about until they finish watching it. Brilliant, just brilliant.
I love <Werner Herzog> and <Errol Morris>- artistic documentarians. Crazy styles, unpredictable.
Of course I love <Ken Burns> as well, their polar opposite. I should close by recommending that the <National Geographic> and the <Discovery Channel> quietly disband, having so thoroughly disgraced themselves for at least a decade now. |
|
| May-18-14 | | Boomie: <Jessarooney: I saw <Von Daniken> "coming clean".> That was probably one of those non-denial denials made famous by "All the President's Men". This highly effective technique has been used by the USAF to cover up their complicity in the alien conspiracy. You can tell it is bogus by the passive-aggressive delivery. "Sure, like aliens are messing with us all the time. Get serious!" |

I should close by recommending that the <National Geographic> and the <Discovery Channel> quietly disband, having so thoroughly disgraced themselves for at least a decade now.> Is this a reference to the Megaladon baloney? Or the aquatic ape baloney? Of course, being baloney, it could contain both aquatic apes and giant sharks. |
|
| May-19-14 | | Boomie: <thegoodanarchist: aquatic apes and giant sharks.> I'll bet it's all about giant alien aquatic ape sharks from Planet 9. |

"<Travis is ESSENTIAL on this site>
I like Trav too, and like most of us he's guilty of taking himself a little too seriously at times.. But.. I don't know exactly what went on when he was posting those gangster film scene clips with people getting their brains blown out and I'm not quite sure who they were directed at either, but if AJ Goldsby can make posts about sending people letter bombs (I think he was having a bad day, lol) and he doesn't get suspended then why should Trav?? Makes no sense! Btw, I am just guessing he got suspended. When I took a few months out I really needed to because I was just getting sick of people who were saying things I know full well they wouldn't have dared say to my face, maybe that's what Trav needs to do? I wouldn't like to think he's just upped and left for good over silly crap because he's like part of the furniture, as we Brits say. We all can get carried away and go too far, my rap sheet isn't exactly the best around here, lol. Anyways, like I say, if he hasn't been suspended then I think he's taking things a little too seriously. We want our DJ back, let's start a "BBB. Bring back Bickle" campaign, lool" harrylime chessforum |

| May-21-14 | | playground player: <jessicafischerqueen> I didn't get where I am today without stopping here and saying hello to you from time to time. Gee, for once I agree with <Mark Finan>. I, too, get sick and tired of people saying things online that they wouldn't dare say to your face. But that's the Internet for you--the place where pencil-necked geeks can insult you with impunity. Meanwhile, I was unaware of any controversy involving <Travis>. But then I'm by no means the most aware guy on this site, am I? |
