"Donny and Marie" disco song- Ok that's the worst thing I've ever seen in my life.

It may be difficult to "unsee" or "unhear" it.

HOWEVER.

Thanks for posting it and like I said before, don't censor yourself in any way when posting videos for me. It's like opening a Christmas present, you just never know what will be inside.

A good game of chess. At the end, I only had around 12 seconds, he was virtually out of time when he hung his rook. (Blitz: 3-0, no increment or delay.)

I did go through it with Fritz 12, lots of improvements for both sides ... but I did not miss anything major.

:)

PS
I actually am over 2200 (now) at bullet ... I only play 1-0. At one point, I had won close to 30 games in a row.

May-10-11  LIFE Master AJ: NOTE: Its has taken me a while to "get back into the groove" of blitz ... I lost many games on time ... trying to hard to see everything and analyze well.

:)

May-10-11  Boomie: <Jessie>

Things were getting a bit out of hand on the Morphy page so I had to lay down the law.

The old flame war over Morphy's chances against modern players had rekindled. One can only take so much nonsense before bursting on the scene.

I try to stay out of such struggles but nobody disses Morphy to me and gets away with it.

Just when I thought I was out they pulled me back in.

Do not forsake me, oh my darlin'.

My attempt to bring law and order to Tombstone has had little effect.

Apparently lowering the Boom does not have the same effect as in days of yore.

The Falkbeer story is a hoot and I guess worth the indignation of being generally ignored.

jessicafischerqueen: <Tamboro Event> That's not what the page says- compare the way your posts was treated to the way <AVRO38> posts are treated.

You were taken seriously and treated in a polite and respectful manner by all involved.

Also, I think your points were taken.

There does seem to be a consensus, however, that by modern standards, <Lasker> was the first World Champion who might be considered as strong as today's masters.

Remember these "time machine" arguments have no end.

Well maybe when time ends they have an end.

Or you could try the "speed of light" method.

I'm sure you are aware that according to General Relativity, there is <no time> at the speed of light.

Zero mass = zero time.

That's why photons and neutrinos are chronically late for important events.

At cg.com, the "speed of light" method involves posting one's opinion up to 300 times a day.

Well, yes. I exaggerated a bit for jollies. My bad.

My intent was to shut it down. After reading the opinions of the World Champions, who would dare continue? Well, they would dare, that's who...heh.

(See my review there.)

Definitely feeling better.

Since the admins are not answering my e-mails and are allowing the trolls to run wild here, I am spending less time on this site.

The other day, (about 1-2 weeks ago); I went and checked my mail, and got a pleasant surprise. I got a box with three brand-new chess books, (NIC); to review.

#1.) Grandmaster Chess Strategy

#2.) The Rossolimo Sicilian

#3.) The Modern Scandinavian

***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****

I had a GREAT deal of trouble getting onto Amazon, apparently they had inactivated my main (reviewer) account ... the last review I did (there) was apparently in 2006!

---> Please read my review ... tell me what you think.

Ulf Andersson vs Robatsch, 1979

This is game #1 in that book ... VERY impressive!!! (Ulf just slowly improves his position and his opponent runs out of decent moves.)

Down from 18 hours a day to 17 hours.

(Sorry Jess-feel free to delete).

May-11-11  fab4: <jessicafischerqueen: <fab4> I'm not really a "club person.">

Ok.. What about 'Society' ? lol.. The Rational Society has a certain ring to it .. Maybe this site need a dose of more irrationalism tho..That's got me thinking lol..

Will check out your Rossolimo doc.. I know him thru few Fischer games.. he's a name I remember easily. I know no more than these encounters..So I will be learning .

May-11-11  fab4: You can only be as good as what's in front of you in your own time.Which renders all comparisons in different eras futile.

Morphy and Steinitz advanced chess like perhaps nobody else. And vanquished every living opponent.

Would they be able to compete today ? Well they don't have to firstly.. they've nothing to prove! They did all that when they were alive ! lol ..

But would make a good movie. Cyrogenically frozen Steinitz monster being brought back to life.. Given a few Bacardis and a lap top with google chrome. I think he'd wreak havoc.. Scary stuff lol

May-11-11  dakgootje: If you'd equate ratio with logic, and thus irrationally with illogically, then I think there are plenty of places on this site where every logic has disappeared. And sometimes there is so much logic no-one sees the logic anymore. Often both happen at the same time.

Which of course is completely in line with quantum mechanics, thus proving we are very much ahead of our time. Although it would be more logical to call it 'we are ahead of their time' inasmuch as we cannot be ahead of ourselves. As of yet, that is - perhaps that is merely old-fashioned thinking.

May-11-11  fab4: <dak>.. you lost me around the second sentance lol.. But I always agree with stuff which impresses me !

jessicafischerqueen: <fab4> I don't think the website needs any extra help being irrational.

I always agree with the Moose too- he's a clever man.

He lives in Moose City, Nederlands, a town that has produced many other notables, including Hans Brinker, Max Euwe, and controversial cellist Enrst Reijseger.
