Deffie's choice of Tomandjerryovski to win all the TATAs *is* a bit of a stretch, eh?

<Teem> So it's really just one chessmaster? Is it a new one, or just a new nickname?

I'd look, but I've been afraid to because I had so much work to do here. I was worried I might start playing through BIG TATAS games instead of preparing my lessons...

Jan-19-16  Boomie: <jeshica: So it's really just one chessmaster?>

I guess so. Here he is busting some moves on JuTube.

Ever notice how Italian men sound like they're crying when they say "I love you"? Ti amo. Waaaah.

Anyhoo...

Tomcruisetsky is treading water at the Dutch Tatas with draws against Auntie Mame, Wee We, and the local player to be named later.

Fabulous Maruana is leading by a prominent, aquiline nose. Naturally, I heartily approve whenever Maruana has the edge.

Karjakin vs Tomashevsky, 2016

Jan-20-16  Party Animal: Hey Jess, couldn't you hear that John Lennon interview about Abbey Road I linked or did I send it to you before?
Jan-20-16  Boomie: <Open Defence: <Tomandshovskey> got hit by a falling piano>

Tomcollinsetsky KO'd by a joking piano, or pianissimo, as they say. Karjokin tickled the ivories.

Jan-20-16  Open Defence: <Fabulous Marijuana> is getting all the TATAs stoned...

<P.A. System>

I did indeed listen to that priceless John Lennon interview about <Abby Road>.

The only drawback is that his Liverpool accent is so charming that it's sometimes hard to remember what he's actually talking about.

I did notice a few things that might confuse modern listeners though- when John talks about "Fleetwood Mac" he means one of the <Peter Green> incarnations, not the hit pop band that came from <Mick Fleetwood>, <John and maybe Christine? VcVie>, and <Lyndsy and Stevie> who drove the band from a respected blues outfit to a runaway monster pop band.

I like the way John tends to use as few words as possible to get his points across:

<Maxwell Silver's Hammer> "I was away for that" lol

<Oh Darling> "We like that stuff."

On the use of strings in <Golden Slumbers> lol John says "I personally can't stand using strings, but Paul digs that, that's his thing."

I also like the way John defended <George Harrison's> two tracks, which had been noted to be his most "commercial" songs- <John>: "I think they're both great, they're good commercial."

On the use of the Moog and other instrumentation in the ending:

"A dog could hear more of that than we can."

LOL!

It's a super interview, thanks <Mr. Monk>. I could listen to John all day long.

Jan-20-16  Party Animal: Jess, I'm glad you enjoyed the Lennon interview!

By the way, John was really away during the making of Maxwell Silver Hammer. He was in a car accident. Paul wanted Maxwell Silver Hammer to be the B side to Come Together, as George Harrison once said, he, (Paul made us play it over & over again.) Lennon said Maxwell was never a single but Paul was again competing with John in their never ending tug of war which made The Beatles great!

This song from the album Tug of War was recorded about a year after John Lennon's death. Paul even got Beatles producer George Martin to produce this record.

<P.A. System>

That track is BLOCKED in Korea, but I'm pretty sure I heard it several weeks ago when I was listening to the "Beatles Reunion" record that Paul and Jeff Lynne put together during the "Wilburys" era?

It had a few unreleased Lennon tracks that they reworked and expanded.

Was Macca's "Tug of War" released on that record? Or is it a different record?

Jan-20-16  Party Animal: <Here in Korea, if the manager of an apartment building complex has important information for the tenants, he doesn't mail the information to the tenants.

HE DRIVES AROUND IN A TRUCK with a very loud <P.A system> and yells the information to the tenants.>

Lady Jesserly, that story you told me about Korean apartment managers reminds me of this funny scene from the film Lost In Translation. ; P

Jan-20-16  Party Animal: No Jess it was a McCartney album called Tug of War. I hope you can here this version. It's older. The other was remixed in 2015.

It worked! In addition to Paul's story of the rivalry with John, his singing on the track is beautiful.

<thegoodantichrist> "Golden Slumbers," Paul's take on a bronze age lullabye, though short, is my favorite track.

Mainly because Paul's vocal on it is maybe a once in lifetime moment.

One of those moments.

What's up <Teem>?

I'm getting on the airplane tomorrow. Thank GHOD this month is over.

I had to get up half an hour before I went to bed, pay mill owner to work at mill, and when I got home me Da would slit me throat and jump and and down on my grave singing 'Bloody Hallelujah.'

You tell that to the young folk these days...
