<Dom> heh... I had to pronounce your post in "regular English" several times to understand it, because I only know Korean pronunciations now.

This is a distinct drawback for an English teacher.

This one I had trouble with- <'Hyundai' ...> My Mom actually drives a Hyundai, though sadly, she's not a Rastafarian. Yet.

Ok so "High on Jai" or "High on Ja" because in RASTAFARTIAN they call God "Jai" or "Ja" amirite.

And "ndai" could easily be pronounced with a "j" sound in there right?

Do you remember the old joke? According to Rasta, the Ethiopian dictator <Haile Selassie> was Jesus Christ. This prompted more than a few wags to pronounce this "Haile Unlikely".

AHAHAHA

<Hozza> You're right this is bloody stunning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bG...

I'm starting to think you have a grudge against Liverpool? If so, please tell me the story.

lol if you do have a grudge how do you handle <Kenny Dalgleish>? You love Scottish football- but dislike Liverpool-

YOU DO THE MATH.

Dec-07-16  Travis Bickle: Yer Majesty, speaking of Lennon & McCartney... Here's an early early tune that is FABulous..

The Beatles - There's a Place
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIP...

Dec-07-16  Alien Math: Hyoyeon's single Mystery 효연 - 미스테리

sounds closer to an American pop song than regular Korean pop, at least people are fast with translations

https://youtu.be/Sdwv8T9qPcI

Dec-07-16  Travis Bickle: Queen Jesserly, here's the album version of Let It be where George Harrison used his cherry Gibson Les Paul which he named Lucy. Hey B.B.King had his Lucille! It is my favorite guitar solo ever!

P.S. On the 45 rpm single George used a Fender with a totally different sound.. The Beatles were like that. They gave you more bang for the buck! ; P

<Vinny Barbarino>

Great previously unreleased track of "There's a Place"- is that George Martin's voice at the beginning of the song?

<Tartuffe> Is this the album or the 45 calibre version of Let it Be?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfX...

How can I find the 45 calibre single or the Album version to compare guitars?

Dec-07-16  Travis Bickle: That's the album version.. I will look around & see if I can find the famous Fender version...

<Hanh> That track isn't doing it for me, but I have to confess I never liked any Girls Generation tracks to begin with. I think it would be better if it sounded more like a Korean pop song, and less like an American pop song.

Really though for me <Hyoyeon's> single lacks "bite" or "crunchiness."

This is one of my all time favorite Korean pop songs, written by the singer, the great <Hyun-A> of 4 minute:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTX...

Here is another Girl Idol Group track I love- <Hello Venus> "I'm Ill":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtS...

I like dancing to this in the clubs. Here is the BBb club remix, which I like even more- but I wish <Areia> would do a remix of this one as well. Maybe I will request it on his youtube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRR...

Dec-07-16  Travis Bickle: M'Lady, here's the rather heavy instrument, (weight), That Harrison used on the 45 rpm single..

https://new.liveauctioneers.com/ite...

Dec-07-16  Travis Bickle: Jess, I could only find a demo of the Rosewood Fender version. Harrison plays it a lot tighter on the recordbut you get the general idea of how the guitar part sounds.

Let It be 45 version
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-H...

Dec-07-16  Travis Bickle: Here's "Lucy" used on the album version with that searing electric sound that I love!

http://www.gibson.com/news-lifestyl...

Dec-07-16  Alien Math: <jessicafischerqueen> Aat first I was hopeful yet when it appeared all I could was sigh,

it's new so it might be a trend for a while,

I do like that Hyun-A song, its more lively whereas the Mystery song was a bit mind numbing

Domdaniel: <Jess> Ah. Korean pronuncification would have to be bleddy difficult, no?

My 'pun' was based on the homonymy of 'Hyundai' and 'I-and-I', which is how one refers to oneself in Rasta.

Of course Rastas don't hold with homonymy - Selassie was Haile Straight.

Didja hear about the Rasta Proctologist, Pokémon?

Domdaniel: < the announcer is regularly forced to say "Lennon and McCartney.">

Reminds me of the time there were a couple of cricketers named Willey and Holding.

The announcer said: "The batsman's Holding, the bowler's Willey..."

Dec-07-16  Travis Bickle: <jessicafischerqueen: ..Great previously unreleased track of "There's a Place"> Jess being the resident Beatleologist there are a few things to explain. 1st that wasn't an unreleased track, There's a Place was on the B side of the Twist & Shout single put out by Tollie Records & also on the American album Introducing The Beatles by Vee-Jay records. It was also originally on the Please Please Me LP from the U.K's EMI label. ; P
Dec-08-16  Alien Math: 'Train to Busan' to officially be remade into a Hollywood film! http://www.allkpop.com/article/2016...

Korea's first zombie film will become a 'remake' in holywoods own vision,

The original is more than good enough in my opinion, the actors made the film worthwhile,

since it's a zombie film I have some hope hollywood won't gargle it too bad, just be ready for a complete whitewash of the main actors since that seems to be the norm

Dec-08-16  Boomie: <Jesstickle>

<Mr. Treehorn> This 45 calibre Let it Me is epic brah: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-H...

I didn't know George named his Fender Lucy eh? B.B King also named his guitar Lucille.

Is this similar to Marines naming their rifles I wonder. If I had a rifle (or a guitar) I would name it "Chunky."

I think George Harrison is an underrated guitar player, not among critics and musicians, but among fans- because maybe they just think of him as "a Beatle" and forget what an amazing guitar artist he was.

<Dominguez>

Any truth to the rumor I just started that you are not only Hispanic, but also a cousin of both Martinez (hms123) and Teem (Boomie)?

<'I-and-I', which is how one refers to oneself in Rasta.>

I didn't know about this but thanks for telling me. Are you a Rastafarian now brah.

If so, I just used the term "brah" correctly for the first time at this website and I must have typed "brah" into a kibbutz box at least 500 times.

You do the maths.

<Put your Hanh in the Hanh of the Man who crossed the water>

Yes <Train to Busan> was awesome and it came close on the heels of another excellent Korean horror <The Wailing>.

Did you see it? I loved both of them.

Domdaniel: <Jess> I-and-I is/are not Rastaman, praise Jah Wobble!

You're too young and refined to remember Jah Wobble. He made music - I use the term advisedly - with John Lydon post-Sex Pistols.

Remember the Post-sex Pistols?

*Brah Min* is a sequel to those fine movies, Enemy Mine and Limpet Mine.

*Brah Ma* is a maternal uncle?

Dec-08-16  Alien Math: <jessicafischerquee> Haven't seen the <The Wailing> yet, just put that on my to watch list ^.^ liked the <Train to Busan> much
