<Stoned Hedge>

Good find, thank you. That looks to be one I attempted with "pawn and move."

Tbh I'm inclined just to delete it and forget about it. I have been following the "pawn and move" saga and what to do about it at cg.com for a long time, and it seems there is no way for us to do it?

So refer it to (long suffering) <Stephen> or just delete it and forget about it? What would you do brah.. maybe it in the Bistro to see if <MissScarlett> knows how to fix it yet.

May-21-22  Z free or die: <JFQ> (, <stone>)

Change <1... e5 > to <1. -- > and the PGN should be fine.

Remember <--> denotes the null move.

(In SCID you generate this by having the to-move king "capture" to opposite colored king. I think that's the de facto standard - but I haven't checked lately other gui's)

<Z> thank you, but your fix only allows our pgn4web to play it, attendant with gigantic red warning letters ordering viewers to switch to pgn4web:

<Stony> lol I always interpreted any game with null moves to be an "odds" game- but I suppose in a narrower sense it is not.

By all means change the tag to another option. I have no dog in this one (copying z who has been telling us recently he "has no dog" here and there around cg.com)...

On a rare serious note, now neither of these games F Amelung vs Von Helmersen, 1858 , F Amelung vs Kaufmann Seeck, 1859 carries the gigantic red warning letters ordering viewers to switch to pgn4web any more.

These "-- move" games from the <Schachblatter> were all fixed by <Stephen> to have the giant red warning letters. They did at one point, but not now. Possibly subsequent fixings have erased <Stephen's> original fix.

At any rate, both invisible games now shine like silver turds in the sun (Python)... What to do with them.....

Have you considered actually "getting a dog"?

I don't have one, but I routinely borrow my brother's dog. FINE ANIMAL.

Hmm.. It appears that while the red letter pgn switch instructions are now missing, at least these two can still be played through on pgn4web:

F Amelung vs Von Helmersen, 1858 , F Amelung vs Kaufmann Seeck, 1859

I was thinking of making a note in the PGN: <if you can't see the bloody game, switch to sodding pgn4web and be silent. Bugger off!>

But I guess the note won't show either.

By remarkable coincidence, I was thinking exactly the same thing.

The new <if you can't see the bloody game, switch to sodding pgn4web and be silent. Bugger off!> instruction has my vote.

<Cibator> lol well chosen brah!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrX...

When I noticed that your video was uploaded by "VenemousNewfie" I thought "oh Canadian" and then I remembered my friend Pat from back east. He told me that a large number of Newfies consider themselves NEWFY FIRST and Canadian second, if at all...

Pat was prone to pound on my door in the middle of the night after a "night out" and insist we walk down south to the best all-night hot dog "restaurant" in Montreal.

I put "restaurant" in quotations because it didn't in the slightest resemble a restaurant. It did, however, resemble a workhouse. I never went there without thinking of Dickens.... "Are there no all-night hot dog restaurants?!"

Pat insisted on walking everywhere even if the destination was a ridiculously long distance away. Worse, he would not permit me to violate this rule. So I'd be off into the night with Pat, and I'd say "What about I pay for a cab" and then have to endure the inevitable "ARE YOU MADE OF MONEY YOU LAZY ( word not allowed on our website, but it does in fact appear in the video you linked)"

I have long suspected <Stonehenge> is a Newfoundlander. I bet he even knows how to pronounce it properly. Hint- it's not pronounced the way you might think. More important hint- don't be pronouncing "Newfoundland" the wrong way in "Newfoundland..."

I'm also reminded of notorious Scottish-Canadian emigre <Stephen Leacock>, who fashioned a ripping career in Canada as a "humorist."

My favorite of his bon mots was "If the Scotch people could stop drinking Scotch whiskey, they could save up enough money to leave Scotland..."

Very good.

One of the YT comments: <I want this at the end of my funeral!>

Not bad, but I want this at the <beginning> of my funeral.

Let's save this one for Christmas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bqf....

<Jess>, I'll stick to Newlyfoundland, to be pronounced in a silly voice with the emphasis on the <y>.
