 | | Benzol: Hey Jess
How are you doing ?
My build is proceeding with all the speed of a lame tortoise. I think I called one of the bastard builders a bastard and he took it personally. |

<TD> You "Rick rolled" me! I can't believe I fell for that again... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rickr... |

 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Benzol> Howay mate good to hear from you again. I'm sorry to hear about your build. As an Aussie I know what a builder is, so no worries there. In Canada there is no such thing as "builders" because we don't speak the King's English or Aussie English. How are things going over there at Wallaby's Balls Sheep Station? I really miss the old place eh... |
|
Aug-10-22 | | technical draw: <jfq>. Thanks for that link. I had no idea what Rick Rolling was. |

 | | Benzol: Jess perhaps I should have said chippy but that would have confused the Brits here. In Europe there's not enough water whilst here at Wallaby Balls Sheep Station it won't stop pissing down.
Earlier I was worried that the tanks weren't going to be installed early enough to be able to collect enough water before summer, but now they're full after less than a month from being installed. Each tank and there are four of them can hold 25000 litres. That will give you an idea of the amount of rain we've had.
Oz has had a hammering waterwise too. I don't know if you've been following the news recently.
Climate change is definitely a reality. |

Whoa you really know your antipodes! It's almost as if you lived there... I get all my down under weather reports from Peter Weir's masterpiece "The Last Wave", so usually I am correct when a tidal wave wipes out my neighborhood. I don't even get out of bed without consulting my aborigine shaman. |

Hats off to the Australian film board, the government funded institution the Aussies founded in the 1970s. The "Australian new wave" was truly one of the brightest moments in film history. TIE ME KANGAROO DOWN, MATE, TIE ME KANGAROO DOWN https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaU... |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Then in your home country of "Kiwi" there is the one woman Jane Campion film industry. I have seen all of her work so far- what a varied and original canon it is too. My favorites are the bizarre film "Sweetie" and the creepy TV shoe "Top of the Lake." |

 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<technical draw> TOUCHDOWN! "Wake in Fright" is a bona fide masterpiece, directed by Canadian native <Ted Kotcheff>, who also directed "The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz." Here is an excellent print of the terrifying "Wake in Fright" offered for free viewing on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLU... This film also offers a fine performance from "Chips Rafferty" (actual name), who has won several Oscars over the years in the "Name most like a salted snack" category... |

|
Aug-22-22 | | technical draw: <jfq> Ted Kotcheff also directed (strangely) the first Rambo movie: First Blood. From high drama to high fireworks. A real talented director. The gambling scene in "Wake in Fright" shows truly amazing artistry. I've always wondered how many takes it took. |

 | | OhioChessFan: <<AJ's> only "offense" was bragging about his chess play and chess analysis.> "Only" offense? Tut, tut you can do better. The proverbial straw was his ethnic insult of Daniel. |
|
Aug-28-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<OhioRememberingFan> Yes I remember that now you remind me. That one confused me from the beginning because although I knew AJ was a Christian, his last name suggests an ethnicity which has the same religious connotation as Daniel's name. Bit of a tempest in a teapot that one, largely due to Daniel's inveterate forbearance. I remember he said "I know what I say at chess club" which was as close to him yelling at anyone that I remember seeing. |

I love your video documentary on Nezhmetdinov.
Would you consider doing something similar on Bronstein? |
