jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

chancho: <Jess> Well, I lost my PC for a while, (due to a lightning storm) but finally got it fixed. (I was stealing my wife's laptop in the interim) My daughter is leaving to Germany to live with her Husband. He liked it here in Puerto Rico and said he wants to return next year. Who knows, he may want to stay here. He stayed for a month and loved it!

jessicafischerqueen: <Travis> although I have read a biography *and* an autobiography (thanks to your hot tip) of <Gligoric>, and although I am literally adding new material to the <Gligoric> folder every day, it might take two years for the documentary to be finished.

I have ten projects on the go at the moment that I am doing serious research on.

The thing is, especially in the case of a player like <Gligoric>, there are tons of photos of him in the Russian chess books and back issues of <64> that I have.

The Commies loved <Gligo> they printed his photo any chance they got.

But I'm not even 100th of the way through looking at all that material.

However rest assured- <Gligoric's> story is absolutely fascinating, full of drama, and I will definitely complete a film about him.

Provided I stay alive for at least two more years.

Jul-30-11  fab4: Gligoric is under rated.
Jul-30-11  fab4: Have you seen 'out of the past'?
Jul-30-11  WBP: <Jess> Actually, I think Endgame and POAP complement each other quite nicely. You're right that EG gives new and very interesting material regarding Fischer's early years (e.g., his apparent debt to Collins, who it now emerges was a strong player in his own right). What I liked about POAP was how it went into great detail about each tournament, really capturing the drama and tension ("In Round Four, Fischer took a bye. In Round Five, Fischer took a bath" etc.). I think the two books work really well together. Brady does know his Bobby!

I had heard none of the new stuff on the P-G film (on BFRO.net and Cryptomundo, it's still thought of rather highly); would love some links!

Isn't that "f" for "s" just for <Castilians>?

Do you think they got that name by always castling the first chance they got?

Aug-01-11  Thanh Phan: <jessicafischerqueen> They talk of replacing Flash From Internet with Adobe Edge HTML5 App: http://www.crazyengineers.com/adobe...

O noes!

It looks too complicated for me to understand. What if my OS or browser can't handle it?

AHHHHH

Why do they have to "improve" everything every 10 seconds?

Is it time to panic?

Or is this change a good thing?
