I think red state/blue state productivity> Remember that Blue/Red relates to voting, and winning an election, not the people/systems who created the economic engine. The stock exchange was there long before Cuomo/de Blasio showed up. Also the folks who pretend to care about spending never mention getting the Government "owned" employed.> Yeah, but New York was always more "progressive" (and, probably, productive) than the South...going back to the 1700s, I would say. Not sure how Lenape social provision compared with the Cherokees. In 1928 supposedly NY per capita income was 4x that of South Carolina, though I should verify that. Progressivism worked, until it didn't. |

| Nov-23-20 | | Ybr: <kp><Progressivism worked, until it didn't> So , <keypusher> , basically , you saying that both this article and refrain of <diceman> <look at chicago - proof that progressivism does not work > are junior level stuff, we need more nuanced analysis to understand reality of matter. Correct ? |
|
| Nov-23-20 | | diceman: <keypusher:
Yeah, but New York was always more "progressive"> It would depend what you mean by "progressive?"
Today it almost means anti-American.
<In 1928 supposedly NY per capita income was 4x that of South Carolina> Why Democrats moved north!
(Also the "Great Society" took over as their plantation) There is also the type of jobs.
I was at a barbecue in Staten Island, I soon realized no one there worked in the private sector. There were police/postal workers/teachers/transit workers, all paid for through taxes. <Progressivism worked, until it didn't.> Because of "man" everything works until it doesn't. That is why conservatism seeks to limit man. |

| Nov-23-20 | | realdumptrump: Re: "learn[ing] things from" <diceman>... I'd be interested in an example or two (outside music, of course). |

You are host/owner of this forum - i am guest. <Diceman> is your guest/friend in this forum and i did not mean to disrespect him and thus embarrass you . You have been helpful, courteous , friendly to me and others in your forum and i appreciate that. Thank you , <keypusher> . Regards. |

If only he could have amicable conversations with them libs , the way you do <keypusher> :) Just saying :) regards |
|
| Nov-24-20 | | realdumptrump: Thanks <kp>, I was asking in earnest. As for music, it's certainty makes life worth living, but I was specifically interested in new uncharted areas. . |
|
| Nov-24-20 | | realdumptrump: <<Ybr> If only he...> Is that referenced pronoun referring to me?
Yeah, ok buddy... |

 | | keypusher: <Z> Thanks, yeah, <Monk's Dream> was a CD I had back when I had CDs. Nice to be reminded. |
|
| Nov-24-20 | | Ybr: Perhaps , my english not that good/clear. However, i hope i have cleared the misunderstanding, <realdumptrump> and you understand that i have as much respect for you as most all sane persons of rogoffland have for you. Hope we cool. Regards |

| Nov-25-20 | | Everett: < keypusher: <Even <keypusher:> himself said he'd like to flee NY when he retires.>
Actually I'm fleeing in a month>
I didn’t realize you live here. If I didn’t have family obligations, I’d move too. Staying in the country? “Mind your own business” is a fine answer |

 | | keypusher: <Everett> No problem! I'm moving to Nashville. |

Not sure if NYC will ever come back...> It will. It's in for some hard years, and there are going to be some changes. Among other things, banks have figured out, hey, we don't necessarily need to pay to house 7,000 people in glass towers in midtown. But it's not the end of the world if NY becomes less of a playground for millionaires... as long as it doesn't turn all the way back into the Taxi Driver edition. NY doesn't make sense for everybody for their whole lives. It doesn't make sense for me any more. That doesn't mean it doesn't make sense, period. |

Thank you for your thoughts , <keypusher> Materialism vs spirituality
<Keypusher> is spiritual and those fundamentalist christians at <free speech zone > are materialist Spirituality as i define it - impersonal love and intelligence (impersonal love = happiness, prosperity, freedom for everyone ...intelligence = clarity/depth of thinking...ability to give optimal response to need of moment) Materialism - greed, lust , bigotry....taxi driver movie as <keypusher> refers 2) hey , <keypusher> am i being an annoyance and bore ? My apologies if that is the case. <Tiggler> blocked me from his forum after levelling such charges against me . And in the case of <tiggler> , i do plead guilty. I hope i am not being guilty of same offences for the second time . If yes , i would appreciate a warning and i would mend my ways and behave. Well :) |

 | | keypusher: Thanks, ybr, but if I was really spiritual rather than materialistic I would have a job that required less time to perform. I don't try to maintain any kind of forum, so I rarely have a problem with whatever people want to post in here. I'll let you know if I'm bothered by your posts. Of course, I may not respond to some of them. |

| Dec-01-20 | | Ybr: <keypusher>< if I was really spiritual rather than materialistic I would have a job that required less time to perform> Depends how you define spirituality.
I already mentioned how i define it .
That is the basic level and as we grow in dispassion/detachment , we come across deeper dimensions of spirituality. Basically , it is about having no emotion and no thought other than 'need of moment' thought - perfect signal/noise ratio Regards |
