Jan-31-11  chessmoron: <Kutztown46> Hi, I'm trying to set up my second CG.com Masters vs. Machines Invitational (2007) that consists of human players (Bill Wall , Eric Schiller [depends on his recovery process] , Ms. Sangeeta Hosea [aka User: Open Defence ] vs three chess machines. And I'm very interested in Stockfish chess engine and I was hoping if you can join. I will have some details straighten out of how the human players want out of the machines (like no tablebase, no opening book, etc.) And this will start at the beginning of April and ends in May.

I would possibly be interested. I have never done anything like this before, so I would need some more details. One possible glitch - I will be away for over two weeks in late March / early April. I would not want to start this until April 15th. If this is a problem, then feel free to ask someone else.

Jan-31-11  chessmoron: No problem.

Your feedback would be much appreciated.

Feb-06-11  morfishine: Thanks for the followup! I was struck by the situation on move <22> when we were heavily debating <e5> <Bf1> (and <Nf1>). We didn't pickup on the strength of <e5> followed by <Bf1> since no one was focused on correlating the moves.

Ideally, we would've looked at this around move 19 or 20 and realized how the moves related to each other. What really strikes me is that <22.e5> is weaker than <22.Bf1> unless its followed by an immediate <23.Bf1>!...then it works, otherwise not...(analysis <Bluewave>)

I'm excited about this short-term "improvement analysis" and appreciate your encouragement. Morf
