Feb-28-11  Golden Executive: <AylerKupp> <kutztown46> Great ! I think is good to explore how all this stuff (table, join, protected, chat, "undo" bottom, "sit" bottom, etc) works. For instance, i could try to do some move previously informed for <kutztown46> via chat, etc.I will be there tomorrow.

<Aylerkupp> <I also have both Fritz and Rybka with the Fritz interface. In the former if you select Long Game in the Home tab ribbon then there’s a button you can select for 40 moves in 90 minutes, as well as customized time controls for up to 3 time controls/game.> I have the same Fritz 12 interface. My point here is that if we start a game under this conditions, when we make the "human" move, the engine will respond almost immediately!. So it´s up to us (operators) play the game under "Infinite Analysis" mode and decide at which depth do the move? must we select the number one choice or we can choose what we like ? May be are silly questions but as you mentioned, i prefer to avoid surprises when the real game starts.

Open Defence: Hi <kutztown46> now worries, if the practice match is more work than fun its not going to be worth it,

when its 5AM here in India it would be 7:30 pm the previous day for you in EST

if a casual game could be squeezed in without any trouble do let me know, if not its fine and we will do battle in the tournament

Apr-23-11  chessmoron: <kutztown46> I might have to move Round 5 to May 8th because of <Open Defence>'s Business trip 5/10-5/16. If you object, please let me know.

May 8th is a Sunday. I'm sorry, but I cannot play on Sundays because of other responsibilities.

I believe another alternative would be to switch the schedule for the last two weeks. Then I can play my game as scheduled on May 14th and the human team can play their May 14th game either on the 8th or the 15th.

Apr-23-11  chessmoron: If that is the case. Then I have to elongate the tournament to one more week.

May 14-A rest day.

Round 5- May 21

Round 6- May 28

This was all discussed on one of the forums a week or two ago. I cannot play May 28th because of Memorial Day weekend. Others may have the same problem. If you want to skip May 14th AND May 28th, and play the last round on June 4th, that is OK with me. Or else go with my suggestion - switch the schedule for rounds 5 and 6. Then I can play against <AK> on May 14th, and the human team can play against <GE> on some other day.

Apr-23-11  chessmoron: <and play the last round on June 4th> I'll do that then.
May-06-11  chessmoron: <kurtztown> I won't able to set up the board on Advanced Lounge 7 since I will be running an errand at 5:20 pm PDT today.

May-06-11  Golden Executive: <kutztown46> It´s 7:18 PM (your time).

I will be at Advanced Lounge 7 waiting for your invitation (if you prefer I create the table, let me know).

It is 7:37 my time. I will be there in 5-10 minutes. You may set up the table if you wish. It does not matter who does it.

AylerKupp: I posted some comments on collecting the data from each of the games in my forum. Let me know what you think.
Jun-24-11  Golden Executive: Hi Jim, the first "teletransportation" was 100% succesfull !.

Next, I am going to <Aylerkupp>´s forum to define who will do what.

Jul-28-11  chesstoplay: We were in the Lancaster, PA area a couple of weeks ago and thought about going to this.

http://www.kutztownfestival.com/

We didn't know about it, but a retailer in Intercourse, PA told us about it.

Can't help but to ask...

Is this near you and is this part of the reason for your name?

We are looking at places to retire and this was really quite a peaceful and lovely area.

  Open Defence: cool photo :)
Aug-03-11  chesstoplay: You really do live in a beautiful area!

Berks County was just a bit North East of where we stayed in Lancaster at the "Arts" Hotel.

But we did drive through it on our way in from Rhode Island.

In Lancaster, we ate at some very nice restaurants like The Iron Hill Brewery and Annie Bailey's.

On our run up and down 340 we ate at the Smoketown Diner in the little town of Bird In Hand.

We may drive through again as our oldest daughter is in culinary school in Rhode Island for two more years.

Our next driving trip there will most likely be October of 2012 for the Fall colors.

By the way, both of your dogs are beauties!!

And what an interesting chess position on your computer screen in the background.

:)

Aug-06-11  hms123: <kutz>

Sorry, the stupid autocorrect on my iPad did it. I am still getting used to the darned thing.

I can't wait until the students start using that excuse.

Aug-28-11  morfishine: Great news on the AT!
Aug-29-11  Waitaka: <kutztown46: <Waitaka: <kutztown46> In the past, we could see the direct URL to the AT and the credentials on the sticky itself. Is there a reason for not doing so at this game?> That's what I thought, too. But when I attempted to post the link on the sticky, I got an error message saying that external links are not allowed on the sticky.>

I modified the sticky to show the AT URL and credentials. The sticky wont accept URLs on the main link, but any URL you put on the body will be accepted as an URL, so that's what I did. Please correct anything that I did, if you want.
