| Jul-19-09 | | robmtchl: Did the patent expire while he was still trying to get Fischer to play the match? |
|
| Jul-20-09 | | MageOfMaple: The patent was expired by November of 2007. Don't know how long it had been expired before then. |
|
| Jul-20-09 | | Jim Bartle: Honestly, whether the patent has expired or not doesn't seem that important. Trice could still go ahead and organize any event he wanted. The difference is that others could do the same, and Trice would have no intellectual property rights. I don't see people lining up to organize Gothic Chess events, though. |

| Jul-20-09 | | JonDSouzaEva: Fat Boy Trice does it again:
Take a look at these pictures on the new messageboard Trice has set up:
http://z3.invisionfree.com/TheFisch... This thread is supposed to contain pictures of M61MG by three different posters - Blue32Hike, Isaac_Gnomoordanmost and dvhollander775. I downloaded all these pictures, loaded them into Paint Shop Pro and looked at the meta-information that is often stored with JPEG images. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that all the pictures were taken with a Kodak Easyshare V803! |

| Jul-20-09 | | PinnedPiece: Finally Ed has a foolproof method of collecting other people's IP--from their posts to
http://z3.invisionfree.com/TheFisch... He's going a little out of his way to choose some random car in parking lot and photgraphing the book next to it. We need <GeauxCool> back as a nail polish analyst. If you want Isaac Knowsmoreandboasts, the site moderator, to get a track on you, have at the good inventor, on his new site. .

 | | chancho: The guy has been exposed as untruthful many times over. There's really no need to discussing this. The prior pages say it all.
If anyone were to fall for the bs, given what has been already uncovered, that's on the person who got suckered. |
|
| Jul-21-09 | | MageOfMaple: Invisionfree may be free but they have strict terms-of-use. Furthering a criminal enterprise is probably a violation. We should all report it. |
|
| Jul-21-09 | | Jim Bartle: On that invision page there's a scan of a newspaper front page: http://z3.invisionfree.com/TheFisch.... And a headline, "Rare Fischer Book Authenticated."
Does anybody have the text of that article? Might make for entertaining reading. Of course the term "rare books" almost always refers to old books out of print, not books published in 2007. |
|
| Jul-21-09 | | PinnedPiece: <Of course the term "rare books" almost always refers to old books out of print, not books published in 2007.> There is no proof that the book was published in 2007. All that can be ascertained is that it became available for purchase in 2008. . |
|
| Jul-21-09 | | blacksburg: <Does anybody have the text of that article? Might make for entertaining reading.> you can see the text if you squint a little bit.
the full text of the first paragraph of the article goes like this - <Bobby Fischer is a name well known in the chess world. When 61 Memorable Games' before he died in 2008, there was almost an> nice article, Trice. i would have expected a little more effort from you. |
|
| Jul-21-09 | | Jim Bartle: Ha!
When I was in high school, a guy named Bob Bartlett was on the JV football team and also wrote on the school newspaper. One week an unsigned article on the team's last game started like this: "Led by the inspirational play of center Bob Bartlett, the Matadors' JV defeated Las Lomas last Friday." And continued in the same vein, including quotes from the coach on Bartlett's great play. |

 | | chancho: If that book were actually selling, we would not be hearing Ed talking on the internet about it, and he sure as hell would not be trying to come up with elaborate bs to cover his exposed lies. Gotta give him some credit though, he doesn't give up. But it's too late, the cat is out of the bag and most people know the book is a fake. |
|
| Jul-21-09 | | MageOfMaple: Not surprised he's not giving up. He's probably got boxes and boxes of 61s, which he spent a ton of money on, not to mention the months of effort. Add to that the fact that the "company" he "works" for doesn't exist, and, given his very-publicly-exposed history of fraud, the multiple judgements against him, and his winning personality, his prospects for employment are almost certainly dim. |

| Jul-21-09 | | Jim Bartle: I guess this e-mail is a golden oldie. Since I'm banned over there, could somebody post this to the Trice chessforum and ask him what happened to that million? From: "GothicChessInfo@aol.com [mailto:GothicChessInfo@aol.com]

To: "Einar S Einarsson" ; "Fridrik Olafsson" ; "Lothar Schmid"
Subject: Proposed site of the Fischer Chess Museum
Greetings Einar, Fridrik, and Lothar,
I am happy to report that our non-profit organization received a $400,000 donation for the Fischer Chess Museum! We have raised nearly $1,000,000 in total now (I started this off with $250,000 of my own money) and once we hit the $2,000,000 mark, we will put the location of it to a vote. One of the most popular requests is in Bobby's native Brooklyn. Despite the USCF and USA sentiments, we still have the right to create such an establishment. Bobby might have a preference such as the Philippines, or maybe even Iceland. His input would be very much appreciated. I hope he is well. With my best regards,
--Ed Trice |
|
| Jul-21-09 | | PinnedPiece: <Ed Trice> is not banned here and certainly reads what is being said about him. If he felt there could be anything at all to explain, he would reply here, <JB>. Good find, to complete his screen cap of Einarsson's reply to his offer to fund a Bobby Fischer museum. I take it that he was trying to reestablish good faith with people that were suspecting betrayal. The reply from Einarsson, kindly declining the above offer (your quoted text), is probably legitimate...everyone is more polite after a well-known friend has tragically died, and as of February 2008, there had NOT been a big followup push to publicly market the book. Add to that natural courtesy--but I think the rebuff of the offer is pretty good evidence of mistrust, actually. Einarsson probably didn't feel he needed to ask about the actual existence or dispensation of the million. . |
|
| Jul-22-09 | | GravityWave: Ed,
Just apologize. You'd be surprised how many people would accept. Once you stop this nonsense you can move on to more productive things. Just imagine... in six months we could all be saying, "Wow, he used to be a real jerk, but look how much money he just raised for charity. Hes really turned his life around." Let go of your pride, hit rock bottom, then rebuild. You seem to be pretty smart. I bet it wont take long. People will forgive you. You just need to ask for it. |
|
| Jul-22-09 | | whiskeyrebel: Naahhh. It'd take way longer than that to redeem him. Who would trust a charitable donation to him? |
|
Jul-22-09
 | | chancho: Anyone notice that mentioning <Joshka>'s post where he says it was Trice who first approached and told him about the book back in 2007, is taboo for Trice? He'll never in a million years say <Joshka> lied about that. |
|
| Jul-22-09 | | Jim Bartle: Trice just posted on his chessforum that Fischer and Einar had broken relations. I guess that's his way of saying that the ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATING March 30 e-mail from Einar to Labate was a lie. Pa...the...tic. |
|
Jul-22-09
 | | chancho: <Jim>, and since people he's put on ignore can't respond there, all the more reason to conclude he's full of crap. A person with truth on his side does not resort to that. |
|
| Jul-22-09 | | MageOfMaple: <whiskeyrebel: Naahhh. It'd take way longer than that to redeem him. Who would trust a charitable donation to him?> Perhaps a change of identity is in order. Shouldn't be too difficult. Assuming fake identities is something he's well versed at. |
|
| Jul-22-09 | | Jim Bartle: Hey, Ed, why don't you make your chessforum completely personal? Put every single kibitzer except yourself on ignore. Then nobody can question your pathetic attempts to explain away damning evidence. |
|
Jul-22-09
 | | chancho: There's the youtube video where Trice has a book under his arm that looks awfully familiar, and the incident where Yanez argued with him and Goichberg told him to put those crappy books out of sight.
But Trice has an explanation for that. Trice is so good at BSing that he could be caught sitting on a toilet taking a dump, and he'll try to explain how it really wasn't him who left the damning evidence on the bowl, but Labate or Einarsson who grabbed him from behind and sat him there. |
