Uncovering the Truth About M61MG

Aug-01-09  PinnedPiece: <JDSE>

Example of <Ed Trice> obtuseness:

<from Ed Trice chessforum>

<Jul-08-08
Ed Trice: His own name? As I have said before, Ed Labate is "JonDSouzaEva". Need any more proof? http://www.gothicchess.com/images/l...

He logged on as "Edward Labate" on some google groups thing, then signed "his" name as "Jon"

I'd like to hear Labate's explanation of that one.

I mean, I'd like to hear Jon's explanation of that one.

I mean, I'd like to hear Labate's explanation of that one. >

Come on Jon, please find any one of my posts from the time I first joined until now, that shows as much grey cell thinness, and bullheadedness, as the post above. I have just looked you up on Linked-In....I am signed up there too. I can give you a search code to find me and "connect" which will give you one of my email addresses.

From there we can do business, if you really think you can't sleep at night unless you know the truth. But I mean, really, old chap.

.

Aug-01-09  MageOfMaple: Everyone here is either Ed Trice, Ed Labate, or Mr. Ed. Except me of course :)
Aug-01-09  Jim Bartle: I'm busted!
Aug-01-09  PinnedPiece: Jeez <JB> you admit to everything. You'd drive the cops crazy.
Aug-01-09  PinnedPiece: Book question directed to <danfreely>. Do you own a copy of M61MG? Has <ET> ever offered to sell you a copy? Has he ever shown you one of his? I have other questions for you, like: does your name appear on the Main Line Chess club roster, and if so, under what name there? ("Freely" not listed on the one I got hold of). That's where you play chess on Tuesdays, right?

N.B.
In case <JDSE> thinks I somehow know too much, previous post by <ET>: "I see Dan ------ every Tuesday and have never had my picture taken with him" or words to that effect. Dan ------ founded the Main Line Chess club, and it now meets at the Waverly Heights Life Care Retirement Center in Gladwyn, about 15 minutes north of downtown Philly off I76.

Then <danfreely> wrote on Fischer forum that he was at the club and had the cat/tree issue, and <ET> went and rescued it. <df> must be a regular, for Trice to volunteer to do that. But not on the rolls????

(I'm sure <ET> wants his sockp to tie all this up in a bow and deliver it to everyone. This info found with my new trice-coached Google abilities.)

.

Aug-01-09  capatal: Can you feel it coming in the air tonight... Ed's headed for greener pastures-nearer a septic tank... alright!
Aug-02-09  MrMelad: <PP> was very objective at the start so I suspected him too, but he was very honest and very soon he knew <ET> was full of crap. I think he wanted to keep the conversation with <ET> so he didn't lash out like most of us did.

Sock-puppets are a very hard thing to deal with. The only thing a poster in a forum can do if he wants to prove his authenticity is to be active in different discussions for a long period of time. It would be stupid to expose oneself via phone numbers or SSN, actually <CG> asked specifically not to. If someone wants to publish his phone number or details then he should do it via e-mails. SP are not a bad thing if used correctly, it doesn't matter if someone is a sock-puppet for a different user if he is not engaged in the same conversation with his other personalities and if he only wishes to state his opinion, like <PP> did.

For <PP> I have the following advice, don't get upset, speak the truth, and it would be clear eventually to everyone that you are not a sock.

Aug-02-09  MrMelad: <JustToClarify> Thanks for the information, mathematical articles are indeed usually hard if you don't already know what the article is about, but as you know, wiki doesn't intend to replace regular educating texts, usually the subjects themselves requires long study of many books so its not possible to explain every little detail to the undergraduate level.

About the articles you mentioned, I am already guarding those. :) Say, I can only see three days past in the watch list, is it possible to see all changes since the last check? I am always having trouble getting used to the format and settings of wiki which by itself require a lot of practice...

Aug-02-09  MrMelad: If you publish your phone number then <ET> phone home.
Aug-02-09  PinnedPiece: <mrMelad> Home ph: no doubt. Has <ET> bothered you via email?
Aug-02-09  JustToClarify: MrMelad:

To change the amount of time a watched article can be seen on your watchlist, go to My Preferences (in the top right hand corner of the Wikipedia webpage), go to watchlist, and set "Days to show in watchlist:" to 7, which will let you see last week's changes.

Jon: PP is not a Trice sockpuppet; he has posted 2307 times about a lot of things besides Ed Trice, Gothic Chess, and M61MG. Trice sockpuppets are never interested in anything except Ed Trice.

Aug-02-09  sharro: <JonDSouzaEva:<PinnedPiece> No, I still have a sneaking suspicion that you are a Trice sock puppet. Would you be willing to talk to me on the phone to allay my fears>

I agree that PP = ET

Aug-02-09  PinnedPiece: <sharro>

Yes, I have admitted the truth to you...

Robert James Fischer

...funny how no one else ever really caught on like you have!

(** throws up hands **)

.

Aug-02-09  whiskeyrebel: And I am Howard Stern.
Aug-02-09  Colonel Mortimer: No, I AM Spartacus
Aug-03-09  MrMelad: <PP: Has <ET> bothered you via email?> Well I am not sure. I got a few suspicious e-mails after I was engaged in this discussion, some invited me to participate in chess experiments I never heard of or signed for. Once I replied to an e-mail "Trice stop harassing me" or something like that...

<JustToClarify> thanks!

Aug-03-09  Jim Bartle: I must admit I was skeptical. Now I'm convinced Rob Mitchell is a filthy scammer! Look at this from a clearly unbiased observer named ottokramer803, with absolutely no similarity in writing style to a certain person of interest:

"Recent muckraking on chessgames.com has pointed the spotlight on a Rob Mitchell of the state of Tennessee. Apparently Rob Mitchell asked somebody to pay him $35,000 back in 2006. The link from chessgames.com pointed to here http://www.gothicchess.com/images/b... where you can see Rob Mitchell's request for the money. What's more interesting is that Rob Mitchell has lied about his involvement in this. Then another link showed up where it was proven that Rob Mitchell owes somebody else $57,000 and he was going to use the $35,000 to pay down some of the debt. It has been proven without a doubt that Rob Mitchell who was known as "Rob the Robber" is deserving of the name. Listen to the words of the man that Rob owes the money to at http://www.GothicChess.com/lies.mov and tell your friends about Rob Mitchell, the con man."

http://groups.google.com/group/rec....

Aug-03-09  JustToClarify: I mean, of course this is a completely objective and honest source. This is why he's using TOR to hide his originating IP. Trice didn't used to do this until we pointed out, in previous Usenet postings of his, that such-and-such was a Trice sockpuppet because he posted from the same IPs Trice uses.

This header is in the sockpuppet Usenet message:

NNTP-Posting-Host: 212.42.236.140

Which is an anonymous proxy:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_t...

Thankfully, Wikipedia has a "no anonymous proxies editing the Wikipedia" policy, so Trice can't use anonymous proxies to create sockpuppets in the Wiki.

Trice: Nice try. Your socks are very transparent.

Sharro: Why do you believe PP is a Trice sock? Can you explain why PP, unlike every sock I've seen Trice use, has a lot of interests besides Ed Trice (or whatever scam Trice is trying to run when he makes the sock, such as the non-existent Gothic Chess tournaments, the non-existent large Gothic Chess membership, etc.)?

Aug-03-09  JustToClarify: You know, looking at that Ysenet thread, it's amazing how pathetic Trice's gothicchess.com web site is in terms of popularity:

http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/gothi...

Aug-03-09  Jim Bartle: And half of that traffic is probably people like us, looking to see how silly it is.

  jessicafischerqueen: Hi Ho-

I'm not sure who else is on <Edward Labate's> email list here?

<Ed> has given me leave to post anything from his emails- but I'll just say that in today's message he provides his analysis of posting histories and concludes that it is "very unlikely" that <Pinned Piece> is actually <Ed Trice>.

Previous to reading this email, I'd have said that the odds of <PP> being <ET> are around GOOGOL to one.

jessicafischerqueen: This is off topic, but I think all chess variants are silly.

Except for that "3-D chess" that <Spock> played on the original Star Trek.

Seriously though, you'd be hard pressed to find a more devoted fan of <Bobby Fischer> than me- but I never liked his <Fischer Random> idea, although, arguably, that's the most popular variant today among serious players.

I suppose that having virtually memorized the first 25 moves of every game played in the history of chess, he had reason to be bored.

jessicafischerqueen: Oh yes almost forgot- I have yet to deny that I'm <Edward Labate>, as <ET> claimed a while ago.

"I'm not Edward Labate."

Pretty sure about that.

Aug-03-09  PinnedPiece: <JFQ> spot on. The key question: (if running the M61MG forum) What would Trice do?

Hmm-mm-mm?

IMO, unfortunately <JTC> has provided yet more instructive feedback to <ET> about the length of time/quantity of/variety of posts that a sockpuppet needs to be credible. *I don't know if that was wise* but <JSDE> seems to want to force the issue here. You can see the early attempt to establish credibility, in <JB>'s highlighted example post: the quoted poster had about 4-5 extremely anti-book messages before the <RM> strike (if I remember correctly what I read there...no time right now to check).
