| Dec-28-11 | | wordfunph: friend moro, happy new year to you and your family! |
|
| Dec-28-11 | | Magnusch: Mary Chrismas 2 U 2 moronovich!
I have been out of electricity for a bit more than two days... <Thanks to Norway for letting the Very Windy (to say the least) Stormy wether called "Dagmar", passing threw (or maybe thru, but probably neither is correct (and I'm too lazy to look up in the dictionary) Norway and continuing (proceeding?) over my dear home country Sweden!> ... Well.. one of the first importing thing to do when electricity came back was stepping out on the internet - and particulary going to <chessgames.com>. It was a bloody hot day at monday (26/12) (or was it yesterday???), hmm.. nevermind which day.. but it was 10 (@#$%* ) positive Celcius (or 283 Kelvin as the good old Greeks would have expressed it (?)) I wish you <moronovich> and <everyone else here (there & everywhere) (as the good old Beatles would have expressed it (?))> Well.. <a Happy New Year> I mean! And a loot of good chess! C U then! |

Dec-28-11

|
| Dec-28-11 | | zarg: Riktig God Jul!
Beklager at jeg ikke har vært innom før, fikk ett fantastisk Lego Mindstorms NTX byggesett til Jul, og da blir store gutter ganske så opptatt. :) |

And a happy New Year to you,as well !
And all the best wishes for 2012.
Yeah,it is a nice view, but far from over. Are you qualified for the final BTW ? > Nope. But here's a fact. I gained about 2K from LCC bets. If I chose the quinellas and winners correctly, I would add 2.5K. Reggio Emilia cost me 3K. So basically, I loss a potential 5.5K. :( Next leg, I will be 1K (again) but I will stick to my strategy. <TD> and <Switch> told me to not do backups (my usual startegy) but that was some code for losing the rest of my chessbucks. <TD> told me to take out a loan (loss 700) and then a longshot (loss 500) and here this is my net worth now (or will be). Account: Penguincw
Funds: 58 chessbucks
Loan: 299 chessbucks
Net Worth: 83 chessbucks (max bet: 1000) |

| Jan-05-12 | | brankat: I hope You have had enjoyable Holidays my friend! |
|
| Jan-06-12 | | brankat: Good luck in the last round! |
|
Jan-06-12
 | | moronovich: Thanks a lot <brankat> my friend too.
And the same to you, especially about the hollidays.
Talk to you later !
Are you btw qualified for the final !? It would be nice to meet you there :) |
|
| Jan-06-12 | | brankat: My chance to qualify is slim, but a Pick-3 hit (I have 9 combinations, about 200 each) would have a chance to put me among the top 10. |
|
| Jan-06-12 | | Pyke: Hi <Moronovich>,
thanks for your message at my place. Very nice of you to leave that message; I really appreciate that! You don't have to worry about me, as I didn't bet either. So I'll stay at 10.000 - too nice a number to spoil it by betting ;-) I don't recall that <Number 23Ber> had some bets in the last few rounds. I don't expect anything from him, except he had some bet on the Winner of the tournament. So, as it stands, I am very much looking forward to Tata with some great chess and also some great betting at the Chessbookie's. See you there and Good Luck to you!
P.S.: And of course congratulations on your fine and competent performance at the Chessbookie. |
|
Jan-06-12
 | | moronovich: Thanks <Pyke> I am glad you liked my message ! And 10.000 IS a nice number :)
I dont recall <Number 23Ber> having some bets lately. But one never knows. I do consider <Chenebelgrind> as the greaest threat as he has proved he can
make smaller and bigger miracles.Then
<TD> and a wild longshot cann´t be ruled out too.So now I would estimate my chances as around 50%. Glad yoo too are looking forward to Tata.My favourittournament (beside fromthe unfortunately bygone Amber): . |

| Jan-06-12 | | brankat: Are You two going to be in the Netherlands during the Wijk tourney? If so, I envy You :-) |
|
| Jan-06-12 | | Pyke: <brankat: Are You two going to be in the Netherlands during the Wijk tourney? If so, I envy You :-)> Nah, that would mean missing out on all of the fun here with you guys. |
|
| Jan-06-12 | | brankat: <Pyke> Thank goodness for Virtual Reality :-) |
|
| Jan-06-12 | | Pyke: Well, if both Ivanchuk and Vitiugov win in the last round, there could be some significant changes at the Chessbookie's after all. In particular there are some nice odds (6:1) on a Vitiugov win. As it stands now, both Ivanchuk and Vitiugov have real chances to win. Well have to sit tight and wait, |
|
| Jan-06-12 | | dakgootje: heh - and what about Giri coming in as tournament-winner at 10.5:1 So Branko - did one of your two-hundreds go to the draw/white/white? If so, you are in the money ;) Of course - both are only valid as long as Ivanchuk doesn't detonate his position. |

 | | moronovich: <brankat: Are You two going to be in the Netherlands during the Wijk tourney? If so, I envy You :-)> Nope.Same answer as <Pyke> ;) |

 | | Chnebelgrind: <I do consider <Chenebelgrind> as the greaest threat as he has proved he can make smaller and bigger miracles>
LOL
and it actually seems that I have overtaken you! My final score is 11256. But we will see if it lasts for the win.
I had 450 c$ on Giri winning the tournament. For a long time I had written off this bucks and now that!
Three days ago I was devastated, when several days in a row I had lost big. Than in an act of desperation I have set the maximum of 2500 on a Giri win against Nakamura and the rest of my money (including a loan of 3000) on Ivanchuk against Morozevich.
I could be an also-ran as well. At the end my luck actually was some kind of <miracle>. I am sorry if I should have snatched you away the win because I appreciate you as a pleasant member of this side.
I wonder what others have done this last round. It would be astonishing when <Number 23Ber> shouldn't have taken any action in his position. |
|
| Jan-06-12 | | number 23 NBer: Well <Chnebelgrind>, prepare for astonishment- I actually forgot to make any bets this morning, so I'm sitting on 10566 as my final score. Congratulations on your good fortune! |
|
| Jan-08-12 | | brankat: It would appear the Congrats were somewhat premature :-) Anyhow, You guys have put on a great show! |

 | | WannaBe: FYI, there is a Lake Elsinore in California, I do not know the history of the naming of this lake, but one would think it's named after someone. =) |
