| Jul-22-15 | | Jim Bartle: I wonder if the Giants lent their bats to serve as pillows. |

Jul-23-15
 | | WannaBe: Okee-Dokee, non-waiver trading (season) have started, with A's dealing S. Kazmir to Astros. (Kazmir will be a free agent after the season) Next up, Price, Hamel, Puig(?!). Anyone? Anyone?? |
Jul-23-15
 | | WannaBe: D. Schoenfield on the 'Shift'. The Jim Rice (by W. Herzog) one is interesting. http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/p... |
Jul-23-15
 | | WannaBe: Doth make one wonder, how will the manager(s) be ejected for arguing balls and strikes?! http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-b... |
| Jul-23-15 | | Jim Bartle: Schoenfield: <Boswell's piece mentions John Mayberry, a Royals slugger whose career went into a tailspin, in part because of the shifts against him.> Becoming a drug addict may have had something to do with it as well. Herzog yanked him out of a playoff game when he was clearly high and missed a popup. |
Jul-23-15
 | | WannaBe: <JB> Did not know that, I read up a bit on him (just now) on Wiki. His son John Jr. is an outfielder for the Mets. |
| Jul-23-15 | | Jim Bartle: Here it is, 4th inning, game 4, 1977 AL playoffs: http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/... Mayberry didn't play in game five. |

Jul-23-15
 | | WannaBe: Oh well, Kershaw lost the perfecto and the no no... |
Jul-23-15
 | | WannaBe: Kershaw got the CG, SHO, 11K, 0BB allowed 3H. Best of all, he looked gooooooood doing it. Oh, and 29 consecutive scoreless innings. Mr. Greinke, your turn next. =)) |
Jul-23-15
 | | WannaBe: From ESPN via Elias Sports:
<In L.A.'s 3-0 win over the Mets, Clayton Kershaw became the first pitcher in the modern era (since 1900) to allow no runs, strike out at least 10 and walk none in 3 straight starts. The only pitcher to do that even twice in the modern era? Cy Young in 1905 (via Elias).> |
Jul-24-15
 | | Phony Benoni: Thank goodness Cy Young did it. Can you imagine having to give out the Clayton Kershaw award every year? |
| Jul-24-15 | | Travis Bickle: Hey Phony, after listening to the NFL experts I'm really worried about my beloved Bears! Newly acquired Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is revamping the Defense to a 3-4 when we don't have anybody to play it?? : 0 And of course we still have Jay Cutler... P.S. If <wannabe's> R A I D E R Z beat the Bears this season I may jump off the Willis Tower! Without a chute... Willis Tower

| Jul-24-15 | | Travis Bickle: P.S.#2 I may go hunting for my new Grizzly hat without a rifle. ; P |

Jul-24-15

Jul-24-15
 | | WannaBe: Just learnt' that GB will visit NorCal twice this year, week 4 at SF and then week 15 at OAK. That outta make Aaron happy, to be close to Berkeley twice this year. |
| Jul-24-15 | | Travis Bickle: Mr Benoni, too bad we couldn't clone 4 linebackers like this guy to play in the new 3-4 D. ; P https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4L8... |
| Jul-24-15 | | Travis Bickle: <WannaBe> Thanks Mr Bunny for the football info! P.S. I just noticed The Raiders Bears game is the most $$$$$$$ expensive, LOL!! |
Jul-24-15
 | | WannaBe: <Travis> Check out the $$ for San Francis: http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/schedul...
Especially the Seattle & GB games, plus the @CHI game. Currently at $120, which is less than the OAK game tix. Go Figure. |
Jul-24-15
 | | WannaBe: ESPN have fired Colin Cowherd. |
| Jul-24-15 | | Jim Bartle: <ESPN have fired Colin Cowherd.> These sports talk radio guys like Cowherd, Le Batard and the others all have to keep interest up and fill up so much time that they constantly go into controversial territory. And sometimes they just go too far. I really can't stand to listen to them with the exception of 70s veteran Mike Lupica, who is knowledgeable and doesn't try to stir up trouble. |
Jul-24-15
 | | Phony Benoni: <Travis> I'd worry too about a coach instituting a new system without the personnel to play it properly. But I'm sure he knows what he's doing. Maybe he'll bring in Cutler as the 4th linebacker and solve that problem as well. And don't worry about the Raiders game. Just tell <WannaBe> they're throwing a no-hitter at halftime. He'll broadcast the news here, and your problems will be over. |
Jul-24-15
 | | WannaBe: LAD have jumped out to 4-0 lead on them NYM, in other news, top 2nd inning, J. Verlander is throwing a no-no. =)) |
Jul-24-15
 | | Phony Benoni: Ha! You can't jinx Verlander! He has a corner on the market. |
| Jul-24-15 | | Travis Bickle: I heard Verlander has asked The Lovely Kate Upton to marry him more than once & she refused. The latest gossip is Verlander asked her to to get engaged & she turned Justin down again, saying she wants to focus on her career right now... I think that is what is messing with Justin's head... P.S. I wish I had such problems. ; P
