 | | WannaBe: Stop the presses, STOP THE PRESSES, in tonight's SFG-LAD game, both teams will have their pitcher hitting in the 8th spot!! (At least according to SFG announcer Miller...)
Stop the madness, stop this unnatural madness! Next thing you know, somebody will introduce Designated Hitter concept. Or something even more unnaturaler, Wild Card play-off!! |
| Sep-01-15 | | Jim Bartle: With Bumgarner going the Giants might as well hit him 4th. |
Sep-01-15
 | | WannaBe: J. Verlander and them Tigers are beating up J. Cueto and KC Royals, on the road, in Kansas City! They have already chased Cueto after 6IP 4R 4ER. |
Sep-01-15
 | | WannaBe: Them Canadian Blue Birds won in over time on a walk-off home run. |
Sep-01-15
 | | WannaBe: I was at the last 2 Kershaw-Bumgarner game at AT&T park, (LAD lost both games, Kershaw lost one and one no decision). Be very interesting, now the Dodgers have decided to go with Greinke/MadBum instead of Kershaw/MadBum. After this series, LAD will visit SFG in the second to last series of the season. Wonder how the pitching staff will line up if the division is on the line. Maybe we'll see Koufax make a start for the Dodgers. |
Sep-01-15
 | | Penguincw: Hehe, Blue Jays win in extras, Yankees win in regular, division lead remains the same, again. However, today seems to be the day of the underdogs. Currently, the weaker team is winning 10, losing 5 and tying 1 (including games already finished). |
| Sep-01-15 | | Jim Bartle: Greinke-Bumgarner reminds me of leaving an SF-LA game at Candlestick with the parents in 1962. A drunk guy was ecstatic about the next day's game, repeating, "Marichal versus Drysdale, Marichal versus Drysdale" over and over. |

Sep-01-15
 | | WannaBe: Pitchers hitting 8th in the SFG/LAD game:
http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/1... |
Sep-02-15
 | | WannaBe: Good Ol' Elias:
<Jason Hammel is looking to help Chicago take two of three from Cincinnati on his 33rd birthday. Over the last 20 years, only one of 13 Cubs pitchers starting on their birthday earned a win (via Elias). > But Elias don't tell us who that <ONE> is, and I am not going to spend time lookin' that one up! |
Sep-02-15
 | | WannaBe: S. Drew is a triple shy of the cycle for the Yankees in their blow out of BoSox. 3 more innings to go. |
Sep-02-15
 | | WannaBe: http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/pos... I hope the car still runs. |
Sep-02-15
 | | Penguincw: The Blue Jays currently have a 1.5 stroke lead over the Yankees, but these 2 are matching each other stroke for stroke. Tomorrow, they of course, both have a rest day. 2 AL East matchups for the weekend: BAL @ TOR and TB @ NYY. Don't forget the Jays are now just 5 games behind the Royals! |
Sep-02-15
 | | WannaBe: From ESPN:
https://twitter.com/espn/status/639... 1985: Mets did not reach the play-offs
2005: Astros reached World Series. But 4-0 sweep by ChiSox Yes, after 10 years, Astros have a chance to be back in the play-offs. But those stats does not bode well for Dodgers. |
| Sep-02-15 | | Jim Bartle: Of course, in 1985 four teams made the playoffs. Today ten teams do. |
Sep-02-15
 | | WannaBe: Interestingly, I just look'd up 1985 season, 30 years ago! http://www.baseball-reference.com/l... NYM finished with 98 wins, 3 more than the NL West winner Dodgers. (NYM finished 3 games behind St.L. 101 wins!) |
Sep-02-15
 | | WannaBe: SFG-LAD, Leake v. Kershaw. Kershaw, 5IP 1H 0BB 7K 53 Pitches. 53 pitches!! That's like 106 pitches for 10 innings! |
Sep-02-15
 | | Penguincw: Smart move by the Dodgers to have Greinke pitch against Mad Bum. Imagine if he defeated Kershaw for the 3rd time this season... Dodgers up 1-0. If Giants lose today, they can give up their postseason hopes. Remember, odd year = no giants. :) |
Sep-03-15
 | | perfidious: Giants are about dead and buried for this postseason on all counts. Looking like Dodgers, Mets and three Central teams in there for the first round, barring some sort of collapse. |
Sep-03-15
 | | Phony Benoni: So Brady's suspension is lifted. If he gets injured in those first four games, we'll know whose side Karma was on. |
| Sep-03-15 | | Travis Bickle: #1 Apparently the integrity of the NFL doesnt't matter & #2 Roger Goodell needs to go away! P.S. Paul Tagliabue had to be called in to straighten out Roger's total mishandling of New Orleans bountygate a few years ago... All I know is Goodell isn't worth 44 million per year! |
Sep-03-15
 | | WannaBe: This will be easy for some, virtually impossible for others. Name the only player to be awarded World Series MVP on the losing team. |
Sep-03-15
 | | Phony Benoni: They were going to give it to Tony Kubek, but he wasn't able to make an acceptance speech. |
Sep-03-15
 | | perfidious: <PB> Hard to imagine Kubek being at a loss for words (wink, nod). Voluble and opinionated are adjectives which come readily to mind when thinking of Kubek. |
| Sep-03-15 | | Jim Bartle: He always seemed calm and reserved to me. Of course that may have been because he was usually sitting next to Joe Garagiola. |
Sep-03-15
 | | WannaBe: Washington Nats have scored 2 touchdowns, while DET and KC are locked in a field goal battle. How 'bout that UNC and USC game? Now watching them Horny Toads taking on the Golden Varmints. =)) And them Horny Toads made a 53-yard field goal!!
My Ucla Booo-ins will face Virginia Saturday, oh, glorious weekend!!! |
