NJ--no rating. Favorites, Morphy, Marshall, Anderssen. Played a lot as a teen, then let it go for 40 years. Trying to reconstitute myself as a chess player.

Meanwhile, let this forum serve as a refuge from wild-eyed loony leftism. Here there will be no admiration for Hugo Chavez, Castro, or any of the other tin-pot dictators admired by chess players from the safety of freedom-loving Western democracies. Here will be found a premise that most of the nations of the world today are governed by Godless fools. Ours, too, unfortunately.

I was also going to say some uncomplimentary things about Queen Pawn games, the Sicilian and the French Defenses, Semi-Slav games, and a few other chess matters. But as those are purely questions of personal taste, I have chosen to leave them alone.

Since setting up this forum, I have also had several novels published: "Bell Mountain," "The Cellar Beneath the Cellar," and "The Thunder King." For more information about them (and me), visit my website, http://leeduigon.com/

Update, much delayed: my fourth book, "The Last Banquet," came out last year, and my fifth, "The Fugitive Prince," I expect to be published sometime this Spring. For book covers and free sample chapters, visit my blog.

Update again: "The Fugitive Prince" is out now and the next project is "The Palace." Editing is well advanced, but we're still waiting for a cover.

Update: "The Palace" is in print now along with No. 7, "The Glass Bridge," with No. 8, "The Temple," waiting in the wings. The first seven are all available via amazon.com.

Update: No. 8, "The Temple," and No.9, "The Throne," are now in print, with No. 10, "The Silver Trumpet,"due for release any day now.

I need to start writing a new book, the weather's just about ready for it. So first I read a Tarzan book? I can't explain it, but I'll do it.

That video couldn't possibly be more viral, and in fact it has the Democratic Party on the defensive.

Ironically, the more of this abject treason the left is obliged to incorporate into its already communist platform, the more likely President Trump is to be re-elected.

At this moment I'd say it's 50/50 that he gets a second term.

If the Democratic Party continues to openly embrace communism and treason, then I would raise those odds in Trump's favor.

Back in Canada, our Conservative Party leader just announced that Canada will move its embassy to Jerusalem as part of his election platform.

This may play well in Montreal, which sports a rather enormous Jewish population, most of whom traditionally vote Liberal.

Meanwhile, conservative governments are being elected in the provinces, so Injustice Trudeau's days may be numbered.

One hopes.

playground player: <jessicafischerqueen> That Democrats should have any chance at all, ever, to win any more elections in this country is well-nigh incredible. Chalk it up to voter fraud on a grand scale. Or to a deep sickness at the heart of Western civilization, caused by the abandonment of the Christian religion. Get rid of the real God, and all you've got left to worship is devils and idiots.

playground player: <jessicafischerqueen> Thanks for the Reggie clip. I didn't get where I am today without watching Reggie Perrin get to where he was yesterday.

BTW, both those actors did Shakespeare: Rossiter in the title role of "King John," Barron as the father-in-law in "The Taming of the Shrew."

Which reminds me of a dream I had once...

I was playing Macbeth at the old Forum Theater, in my home town, and had just started the soliloquy: "Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow--"

Pause. Then:

"I didn't get where I am today saying life's but a walking shadow!"

Woke up in a cold sweat.

Anyways I just posted a comment on your blog here:

I wish it were incredible. When you own the mainstream media, then your propaganda is the only message seen on TV.

And they don't show videos of Philadelphia Muslim Children celebrating head chopping. That would disprove their "religion of peace" lie.

playground player: <jessicafischerqueen> <Oy, Rodney> is published on Sundays, and you should be able to find it in the archives. If you want it.

<thegoodanarchist> My blog is really the only advertising that I have for my books, and I try to use FB to attract more readers to it.

But I'm beginning to wonder how many people have left Facebook lately. Probably more than they're letting on.

playground player: <Esteemed Colleagues> I had one Facebook referral last night, and one so far today. Does that mean I haven't been banned? But I'm still puzzled why my daily average should have gone from about 15 a day to zero or one. I wonder if it's not me who's have trouble, but Facebook.

  jessicafischerqueen:

<Lee> You shouldn't be. They are stone cold liars in the abject servitude of the new Stalinism.

You are clearly a public figure since you have published many successful novels.

I think the "problem" is that you are a Christian public figure, and we all know how evil they are.

If you became an Islamic public figure, I believe they would waive their supposed "policy." Instantly.

Not necessarily because they "like" Islam. Their "likes" and "dislikes" proceed directly from perceived self-interest, and have nothing whatsoever to do with any actual convictions. They don't have any convictions, unless "avoiding criticism from the left" or "wanting to make as much money as possible" count as convictions.

  jessicafischerqueen:

The <New Stalinists> in congress actually despise Christians. They are just one step away from openly cheering when another Christian church is bombed or invaded by Muslim gunmen, as happens on a daily basis in Africa.

The "moral leadership" of the Democratic Party has defaulted to the viciously Anti-Christian, Anti-Semitic rhetoric of pro-Islamist Congress"men" such as <Alexandria Occasional Cortex>, <I'll Ban You Omar>, and <Rich Cheater Tlaib>.

The only good news about this is that the necessity of the <Democatic Party> to choose an older white man to challenge Trump has these three hags fuming.

With any luck this could fracture support for the party come election time.

<Biden> will win the primary, but not before he's smeared on a daily basis by this triumvirate of evil.

It should be tough to backpedal on that come actual election time.

First, these ignorant, evil, traitorous women don't backpedal- ever.

Second, <Pelosi> has no control whatsoever over them.

So there is hope for optimism. I say it's at least 50-50 that President Trump gets re-elected.

One of the best parts about that outcome would be that the next Conservative Party candidate would likely be leaning towards <Trumpism>, but not be so cavalier about putting his foot in his mouth on late night "tweets."

US Presidents shouldn't "tweet" at all.

It's demeaning, and empties the office of whatever gravitas it might still enjoy.

<jessicafischerqueen:

Unfortunately, the Mainstream Media [MSM] is controlled by America-hating Leftists.

So while we can say US Presidents shouldn't tweet, that leaves no recourse for [swamp-draining] Presidents to get their messages to the people without swamp pollution being added to those messages.

And I am against swamp poloooshun.
