WannaBe: In case I forgot, congrats to them Lady Bruins. =)) U. Mich (69-63) won, but the last spread I saw was -6.5, so if you took UConn w/ spread, you got very lucky, if you bet on them U. Mich, I feel bad; the O/U was 148.5

WannaBe: <CIO> LOL. I remember those mems... <chancho> North by Norwest, totally agree, the audiences know that the plane scene was filmed earlier and played on a screen behind. It was still drama. Same thing with the Mt. Rushmore chase scene.

WannaBe: ¡Olé! ¡Olé! this is what I see for "¡Olé! ¡Olé!" (game of the day Mar-13-2026) I also know this issue have been around for a while, and it's not that important, in IT term, it is a level 'C', cosmetic fix. But I just wish to report it again. Can CG.com unify this ...

WannaBe: <FSR> March 11 is his birthday, and usually PoD is chosen from the birth date of the player. So unless CG.com decides to change the algorithm on how PoD is decided. We will randomly get "undesired" player(s).

WannaBe: Great, so I call AT&T (1-888-613-6330) to get an update on our trouble-shooting ticket, I spoke to a live person, then got transferred and lost connection... Great.

WannaBe: The fiber optics outside office to the next junction have issues, not sure if it's cut or some rat chewed it up...

AT&T is sending out construction crew to have it fixed. We could be without internet for another day, or more.

Do you have a backup?

Aug-28-14  technical draw: <WannaBe> Thanks for that illegal info on the chess games forum. And yes, I can use some games on GK.

perfidious: <WannaBe> Roger Goodell cannot undo his failure in the Ray Rice incident, but he displayed enough courage to admit how he went wrong, so that at least the NFL does not let transgressors get off scot-free:

<At times, however, and despite our best efforts, we fall short of our goals. We clearly did so in response to a recent incident of domestic violence. We allowed our standards to fall below where they should be and lost an important opportunity to emphasize our strong stance on a critical issue and the effective programs we have in place. My disciplinary decision led the public to question our sincerity, our commitment, and whether we understood the toll that domestic violence inflicts on so many families. I take responsibility both for the decision and for ensuring that our actions in the future properly reflect our values. I didn't get it right. Simply put, we have to do better. And we will.>

Aug-31-14  Mating Net: Way to go Bugsy, you outed me! I pretend to be a mere wood pusher while I'm really sharpening my hacking skills, lol.

That article makes a lot of good points. I would rather crack some bank's firewall than scale Kramnik's Berlin Wall defense.

WannaBe: Super weird, internet is very very slow this morning. I think it's AT&T (my service provider).

I usually can ping google and 8.8.8.8 or chessgames.com and all 3 are returning "Request timed out."

Never seen that before. If I try to open google.com it takes forever, same with espn.com or yahoo.com.

CG.com is a bit slow but comes up faster, because lack of flash or embedded video.

It's possible we are under a massive DoS attack by Syrian Liberation Army hackers.

  WannaBe: Pat Hayden fined 25K.
Ray Rice Cut by Ravens and suspended indefinitely by NFL!

Bwahahahahah!!!

Sep-08-14  Jim Bartle: I guess the new video finished Rice, and gave Goodell the perfect chance to correct his original mistake.

I am amazed that the refs even talked to Haden, the AD. The AD has nothing to do with playing the game. Plus USC aDmitted to violating rules by texting between the field and the press box, which is prohibited.
