WannaBe: Alan Rickman have died of cancer at the age of 69, I best remember him in Galaxy Quest. Absolutely hilarious.
Jan-14-16  thegoodanarchist: <WannaBe: <thegoodanarchist> I prefer to sell covered calls, make a bit more (safe) money.

I do it usually two weeks out, at a strike price that I think will not reach and have a good premium to make it worth while.>

I didn't think GE would be above $28 in December, so I sold a covered call an my shares got assigned. :(

  WannaBe: Buy! Buy! Buy! Buy!!
Jan-15-16  thegoodanarchist: Really?

I am feeling grumpy because the stocks I like didn't come down too much. The PE ratio for ADP is over 26! Too darn high.

CNI and NDSN are downright reasonable, though.

WannaBe: GPRO is in serious hurting territory (52-week high was $65). So is TWTR (52-week high was $53).
Jan-15-16  thegoodanarchist: TWTR has negative EPS. It seems to me that this can't be considered an investment, only a speculation.
Jan-15-16  thegoodanarchist: <WannaBe: Alan Rickman have died of cancer at the age of 69, I best remember him in Galaxy Quest. Absolutely hilarious.>

Yes! In his honor I will put GQ on my Netflix queue.

  WannaBe: Exhibit A: http://www.fool.com/investing/gener...

Exhibit B: http://www.bloombergview.com/articl...

What's wrong with this picture?

Jan-16-16  thegoodanarchist: <If we assume Berkshire neither bought nor sold a single share of its 25 largest stock holdings in the fourth quarter of 2015, Berkshire Hathaway would have received about $858 million in quarterly dividends from its publicly traded investments.>

That is a staggering amount of dividends. I would be giddy if my entire portfolio value was 1% of that.

Jan-16-16  thegoodanarchist: The Uber story makes me think we have seen the market top.

This kind of speculative excess occurs at tops. Maybe not the same "investing without seeing financial information", but some kind of speculative excess. Dot com bubble saw "looks" and "eyeballs" replacing earnings for a while.

Nobody values a public stock on "eyeballs" anymore.

Nothing like chess, football, football, tennis Sunday to wrap up one's weekend, and get ready for Monday. =))

Hellllllllllo future ex-wife!!

Jan-18-16  NakoSonorense: So I got to the office this morning and one of the servers I use to do my 'work' is off. The IT guy hasn't showed up yet and I've been idly waiting for almost 3 hours... On the bright side, I put together a really nice Spotify playlist!

WannaBe: <NakoSonorense> Good job! You got a great future in IT!
Jan-18-16  NakoSonorense: <WannaBe>

The guy finally came, but it looks like they will need to reset the whole thing. Problem is that they will need to do it at night because somehow everything is connected and the internet will go out for a couple of hours while they do it.

Looks like I get to go home early! Woo!

Jan-19-16  technical draw: It can't be! <WannaBe> funniest kibitzer? I'm going to sue. I'm taking it all the way to the supreme court. I'll cite Row v Swim and Brown v Bored of Education!. You mess with the best you die like the rest!

All joking aside congratulations to <WannaBe>. A well deserved Caissar. My output was spotty to say the least and I'm glad a long time friend has won. Congrats and here's to more jokes in 2016!

Jan-19-16  technical win: Well that's fair enough. And a <technical win>, too!
