Did not do jacks.hit for chessviewer deluxe II on my Oracle browser.

WannaBe: iOS 9.2.1 have been released, but does not fix the battery percentage bug.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonk...

Apple claims the battery percentage indicator bug is due to time zone setting change, but users have reported the bug also occur straight out of the box.

(Maybe it's because iDevices are assembled in China and then sent to U.S.?)

Now, I'm not that intelligent, or smart enough to work for Apple, or pass their interview process.

But please explain to me why/how changing time zone setting on my iDevice affects how the battery level is read by the program and then displayed on the screen?

Maybe Tim Cook can explain it better than I can.

Jan-20-16  thegoodanarchist: Crazy market today, significant recovery second half.

But 1867 for the S&P 500 has been breached to the downside and held at the close.

Bears seem to be keeping control from the Bulls.

Next strong support is 1742.

Jan-20-16  thegoodanarchist: Reading all the posts, it appears that you won an award for being funny.

Good on ya, mate!

WannaBe: Didn't find my 'twin' on that web site.

GPRO continues to (free) fall, TWTR is up. U.S. indices are up today (dead cat bounce?)

Jan-21-16  thegoodanarchist: RDS.B is sporting a 9.85% yield!

That is a lot. Can they sustain the dividend? I went to their website and found all the divy info available.

I would like to know what they paid in 1998, when oil was this low. But the spreadsheet only went back 10 years.

So I looked at the payment in 2008 when oil crashed. It was 80 cents a quarter. They also increased it over the 2007 payment, and raised again in 2009.

Now the dividend is 94 cents a quarter (these numbers are per ADR, not per share.) That is only 18% higher than what it was during the previous crash.

Shell has not cut since WWII. Even if they are forced to cut, it probably would be by 25% or less. Which would still be a yield >7%.

If it is cheap tomorrow, I might buy.

Jan-25-16  thegoodanarchist: The thing about stocks is, not every sector bottoms at the same time.

Oil patch looks like it will bottom before the transports, which look to bottom before industrials.

FANGs might be the last to bottom.

WannaBe: AAPL announced their earning and sale figures, and is now down almost 3% in after hour trading.
Jan-27-16  thegoodanarchist: <AAPL announced their earning and sale figures, and is now down almost 3% in after hour trading.>

Let's face it - the iPhone was a fabulous invention, on par with the Wright Bros. invention of the airplane. Not <quite> as revolutionary, but certainly in the discussion.

And that is what drove AAPL stock from less than $1 (split adjusted) to about $130, from late 20th century to Spring 2015.

AAPL has two paths to capital appreciation now. Grow the dividend, which will entice dividend growth investors to push the stock price up. This is the slow way.

Then there is the fast way. Invent the next big thing. Looks like AAPL watch is not it. But if I knew what "it" was, I would be a billionaire on a private island surrounded by topless supermodels.

Instead I am here, in your forum, pontificating on stocks. But I got one thing right - AAPL watch is not the next big thing. Unfortunately for me, you didn't need me to tell you that.
