Pretty much, U.S. is 50 "sovereign" states, that have their own laws, some state ends poll at 6PM, some ends at 9PM. It's kinda of a mess, but hey... That's what makes it interesting. Polling place, that's even more "fun", twice my old watering hole was a polling place (This was back in the late '90s) I've seen churches, college gym, bars, all used as polling places. Even my old high school's auditorium was used once. |

Dem are losing House seats, and Senate is still up in the air, with run-offs in some states. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/... California had some "relative" progressive propositions statewide, and they did not pass, amongst those are: 1. Re-instate Affirmative Active
2. Rent Control on buildings older than a certain age, (or built before a certain year...) 3. Lyft/Uber and others employee are classified as contractors, not employee. (This over turned Assembly Bill that was passed) 4. Money-less bail, it failed...
I guess there is still hope for California, people are leaving in troves since this COVID and work from home (WFH) started... Have read so many articles on people leaving and finding new home in TX and ID where people are accepting to different ideas and not be view as "You Are Not One of Us." |
