WannaBe: Absolutely 'crazy' sequences... Usc throws an INT, the defensive lineman running with the ball then gets hit and fumbles the ball into and out of end zone for touchback (no TD) Next play, Usc goes from their own 20 to N'Western's 20 (60 yards).

  Diademas: <optimal play:

I'm just gonna follow <WannaBe>'s comments and wait for him to tell us who won.>

Wise choice. Let's hope they take notes in the White House and Delaware.

WannaBe: <optimal play> It is very easy, every state is guaranteed 3 votes, 2 for (guaranteed) senators, and at least one for house of repres.

So. In less populous state, like South Dakota, or Alaska, they are guaranteed 3 votes. 2 for the senators, and 1 for the House of Rep.

California, Texas, New York, Ohio, have huge votes, California have 55 votes. 2 for the senators and 53 for the house of repres. (Imagine upper house and lower house)

Texas have 38, and New York have 29...

All states except 2, maybe 3, have winner take all, if you win the state, you get all the votes, California is a winner take all state, if you win by 1 vote, you get all 55 votes.

The 2 or 3 other state have split vote. Hence U.S. candidates "FOCUS" on certain states.

Bottom line, our version of the "parliament", will eventually vote on the person that will lead us for the next 4 years. (barring any tragedy). And that is how it works.

U.S. is amongst one of the 6, or 7 countries that uses Electoral College system. Yeah, it is confusing as heck...

You can win the election with less total votes, and that have had happened at least 5 or 6 times in U.S. history. Anyway, the magic number is 270.

WannaBe: CNN now have Biden ahead 118-95.

Yahoo have it Biden ahead 131-108.

However, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Wisconsin are still uncalled.

Those states combined will out-weight CA. (Not to mention Texas...)

I am going to be so tired and groggy tomorrow for work... Good thing I am working at home.

WannaBe: CNN have called Utah for Trump, Biden ahead 118-105

Yahoo have 135-108, because they called Virginia for Biden, while CNN have it as "Too Close to Call".

Yahoo have also called New Mexico, while CNN have not.

Nov-03-20  optimal play: <WannaBe> Thank you. That explains your electoral voting system, now why is it every news station I look at all have wildly different numbers?

The only people I've noticed who have Trump ahead is Church Militant.

  WannaBe: <optimal play> I don't know Church Militant, or his prediction/polling method...

Currently, CNN have called California, Oregon, and Washington for Biden (very strong Democrat base)

Yahoo have it 209-112, CNN 192-108 both for Biden.

However, Florida (29), Texas (38), Michigan (16), Wisconsin (10), Ohio (18), Georgia (16), Pennsylvania (20), Minnesota (10), and Iowa (6) are still undecided...

We having fun yet??

Nov-03-20  technical draw: Biden will wind up with 226 electoral votes. TD the magnificent has spoken.
Nov-03-20  optimal play: <WannaBe: <optimal play> I don't know Church Militant, or his prediction/polling method...>

I think they rely on prayers.

<We having fun yet?>

No, not yet.

I get the impression the MSM is much more ready to assign a state to Biden than Trump.

Maybe wishful thinking?

WannaBe: CNN have finally called VA for Biden (Yahoo did it about 90 minutes ago... Give or take)

CNN have Biden ahead 205-114, Yahoo have Biden ahead 209-118

Why? Yahoo have declared Idaho for Trump.

WannaBe: Yahoo have Biden ahead 213-118, CNN have it Biden 205-132

Biden have pulled ahead in the popular vote 59.33M to 58.12M

WannaBe: Yahoo have it 223-145... And with that, I am going to Zzzzzz.

Let me know who won, hopefully it will be announced before World Cup in Qatar.

Nov-04-20  technical draw: Ok, El Predicto says that Biden will get a maximum of 233 electoral votes. Close but no cigar.

WannaBe: Well, I found out this morning I did not get elected as the local Head Dog-Catcher.

Stupid Russian Influence.

Nov-04-20  technical draw: Lucky for you <WannaBe>. I was voted least likely to succeed for the 50th straight year. Maybe I should take a hint.

WannaBe: I remember the Bush/Gore result and the court delay, and the joke at the time was:

"Enemies of U.S. are demanding to know who won, so they know who to burn in effigy."

Nov-04-20  technical draw: <"Enemies of U.S. are demanding to know who won, so they know who to burn in effigy.">

Did you know that my father was burned in Effigy? That was Effigy, Indiana.

Nov-04-20  optimal play: Still waiting for <WannaBe> to tell us who won.

WannaBe: <optimal play> Looking really good for Biden, picking up Michigan and Wisconsin is Huuuuuuuuuuge.

If Pennsylvania goes to Biden, it's all over. Or a combination of North Carolina + Georgia, or Arizona + Nevada.

Nov-04-20  optimal play: What happened overnight?

When I went to bed, Trump was ahead in all those states!

Where did all those Democrat votes come from?

Nov-04-20
Premium Chessgames Member
  WannaBe: Mail-in ballots.
Nov-04-20  optimal play: Why would mail-in ballots favour Dems so heavily?

It sounds a bit suspicious.

WannaBe: <optimal play> Biden encouraged Democrats to vote by mail for COVID protection/exposure of being in line with others.

Yahoo gave Arizona to Biden, but CNN still shows as undecided.

WannaBe: Here's an interesting article on Mail-in ballots and how each state differs:

https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/04/poli...

Nov-04-20  optimal play: Thank you for posting the link to that article on mail-in ballots.

I notice the article is by CNN. Can we trust it to be fair and balanced?

I recall a short video on mail-in ballots I saw a couple of weeks ago:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2j...

I wonder if Biden encouraged Democrats to vote by mail for COVID protection/exposure of being in line with others or perhaps for more sinister reasons?
