WannaBe: Absolutely 'crazy' sequences... Usc throws an INT, the defensive lineman running with the ball then gets hit and fumbles the ball into and out of end zone for touchback (no TD) Next play, Usc goes from their own 20 to N'Western's 20 (60 yards).

WannaBe: I think <OCF> would appreciate this, one of my fav channel on YouTube, the guy is great, and research is top-notch.

This episode is on the MI/OH "war" over the Toledo Strip. Or the Toledo War.

Dec-08-20  technical draw: <Wannabe> I thought I was the only member who watches "The History Guy". What I like about his videos is that they are short (about 10 minutes) and if I find the subject interesting I look further.

Who knows maybe one day chessgames.com will be "history that deserves to be remembered."

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/...

I can just hear the governor and the state of TX right now: "Y'all just keep taxing them people, CA. Just keep on taxing... HP left, Toyota long ago left SoCal for TX, and people just keep leaving."

Dec-08-20  technical draw: In the mesozoic period of time there was a species of crabs called Anomurans. However they are known by their familiar name, the Wannabe Crabs. I am not making this up.

WannaBe: So COVID vaccines are rolling out, and quite honestly, I pray. Don't want to see a repeat of thalidomide.

I hope it all works out for everyone.

On an ethical/moral side of question, why are people in long term care (homes) getting shots? Are they 'essential'? Are they working to produce something that we need? Can they farm and harvest produce to feed others?

Does the 'Need of many outweight the need of the few'? Many elderly on the Titanic gave up their seat on the lifeboat for the younger, (if my memory serves) and now they are first in line to get shots...

Maybe it's a mass conspiracy, maybe the elderly will die first and governments will not have to supplement their medication, long term care and social security payments. (We all know that money is going run dry in the next few decades).

Good time/excuse to 'kill them'. Right? People sitting around watching TV, doing knitting and playing backgammon, sucking the society out of money.

First responders, Drs, ERs, that's different, they <ARE> essential, farmers <ARE> essential (Unless you have huge backyard garden and can grow your own food to feed you/family for the next few years, if things really go sideways). Not those little cute gardens that grows you 10 tomatoes and a tree that grows oranges 3 month out of the year.

WannaBe: Here is another "Interesting" thing that I found out. British women during WWII that worked with/on TNT or bombs were called canary girls, because natural TNT colour is yellow.

And it dyed their hair and skin a yellow or blond colour. (Unfortunately, it also causes a <LOT> of other illnesses)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpq...

Same with what became known as "Radium Girls", https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiu...

I wonder what we will find out in the future, regarding these vaccines...

Yes, I know what everyone is wondering, I will take the vaccine when it is available to someone like me, way down in the totem pole. I am at an age, where I am going/saying to myself, "I really don't give a crap anymore."

Knowing how far down I am, it will be at least another half a year or more before it will be available. Plenty of time for the more general public to be "tested".

God, I hope this works out for everyone, I really do... It's not just for this generation, but for the next two or three.

Dec-14-20  technical draw: <WannaBe>. That space message sent out by the Arecibo telescope (which unfortunately collapsed last week) is pretty dumb. I believe the aliens are laughing at it trying to figure out what the goofball earthlings are trying to say that they don't already know.

It would be interesting to give the code to college students that have never heard about it and see what they can decipher. They'll probably think it's a SNL skit.

SMH.

Also, thinking SoCal is not blameless in this mess.

I lived in the SoCal/NorCal border city of San Jose for 6 months, back in 2005. It was great 15 years ago.
