OhioChessFan: The Dancing Rook inspires me to work harder to win next time.
Mar-07-08  jepflast: I don't mind it being there, but I do kinda wish they would update it. Let's face it: it's a pretty low quality image.

OhioChessFan: Per pages 84 and 85, did anyone on Team Black work with your response to 25. Qd2?
Mar-08-08  zanshin: <OCF> I'm pretty sure we did not cover <25.Qd2>, and that no analysis was posted for this move. If <Touch of Knight> is still reading this forum, he may have analyzed this option. If he did, I don't think he posted the lines.
Mar-09-08  Touch of Knight: I have consulted my notes, and I can’t find any analysis of 25.Qd2. Apart from 25.Kb1, the move that was played, I concentrated on 25.Qf1 and 25.Qe1. Surely 25.Qd2 would have been a surprise.
Mar-09-08  just a kid: When is Team White going to play Team Black in regular chess?
Mar-10-08  zanshin: <just a kid> <CG> said "soon". I'm not sure which Teams they will keep though, the Fischerandom, or the last Team White vs Team Black game. I just hope they start it sooner than later. The GMT game feels like it has been going since the dawn of time and will end soon after the Second Coming. ;-)

plang: <and will end soon after the Second Coming.>

Can you give me your best estimate? I need to prepare.

Mar-10-08  zanshin: Like a thief in the night <plang>, and yeah, me too ;-)
Mar-10-08  just a kid: <zanshin>thanks.=)
Mar-11-08  D.Observer: Is black winning after 34. Bxd3 Qxd3+?

Jul-05-08  mmmsplay10: What was the purpose of 6.h5?
Jul-05-08  VinnyRoo2002: I was wondering if there was any update on a normal chess game between Team White and Black? Also, I was curious how you become a member of a team. I am not the strongest player in the world, but if Team White needs some assistance, I'd be more than happy to be apart of the team. Thanks!

Domdaniel: <mmmsplay10> - <What was the purpose of 6.h5?> I wasn't a participant, so this is purely speculative analysis. But black had just played the pre-fianchettoed bishop from h8 to g7 - not a very useful move in itself, but suggesting a plan to castle kingside (into the standard castling formation).

With that in mind, h5 is a standard attacking move against a castled king - or an attempt to dissuade black from castling on that side. Which it did.

It might have been better to wait, see if black played ...0-0, and then play h5.

Dec-24-08  WhiteRook48: why is that rook dancing its very annoying
Jan-03-09  The Chess Express: Yea, I don't like it much either.
Feb-07-09  WhiteRook48: and the black rook should be dancing anyway
Jul-28-10  Bixel: We need more Chess960!
Aug-12-10  Lil Swine: that rook dance was so annoying

OhioChessFan: When I was working on this game, I was 100% sure Black would win when they played 17...Be7. As I look at the game now, years later, I can't begin to understand why that was the winning move. But it was. Wish I could have a feel for chess without having to spend so much time on a position. I suspect the very best GM's have that talent.
