To the best of my knowledge, there has never been a chess book on grandmaster draws. There has been one that I know of. In 1968 Wolfgang Heidenfeld published a German version of the book, "Grosse Remispartien". In 1982 the English version "Draws" was published edited by John Nunn. All of the games without notes can be found at www.queensac.com/chessblog/bookgames/heidenfeld/-
draw.htm. Attribution to "CHESS" Volume 70 NO.11 February 2006. |

Thanks. I remember looking at Rossetto-Stahlberg for weeks. I bought the book used, but the link is wonderful.

If you slide forward to 23.Bd4 does Rybka consider Ne4 or does she stick with Nfd5? |

May-29-09 | | WinKing: <kb2ct> have you seen <RV>'s posting on 21...Rxd1+ 22.Nxd1 Bc7 <23.Bg5> Qxe2 line. 25...Qc2! looks like the answer. Should make 22...Bc7 a totally safe move to play I would think. Typing links in manually can cause problems because CG software sometimes does weird and wonderful things to them ;-) |

May-29-09 | | ajile: If UMAN didn't give up the c pawn in the opening he isn't giving up the e pawn in the middlegame. My 2 cents. I don't think he will play the 21. Nf3 Rxd1+ 22. Nxd1 Bc7 <23. Bg5> Qxe2 variation. |
|
May-29-09 | | WinKing: <ajile:I don't think he will play the 21. Nf3 Rxd1+ 22. Nxd1 Bc7 <23. Bg5> Qxe2 variation.> Now he won't, assuming he knows black's queen get's back in time to defend the fort. Your right though <ajile> because we do end up with the two bishops in that line also. He will not let us get away so easily with that kind of an advantage. |
|
May-29-09 | | capafan: <ajile>I concur with <ajile>. <RV>'s latest line is a killer for 23.Bg5. I plugged the variation with 25...Qc2 into shredder, crawled forward and am getting very good evals for black. Actually DPLeo had this line at 28-ply with shredder also. GMMU will play 23.Bd4. |

 | | Tabanus: <<RV>'s latest line is a killer for 23.Bg5> ?? We have looked at 25...Qc2 already coz it's the same as 25...Qd3 26.Qxf6 Qg6 27.Qh4 |

I am getting 27.Qe7 as more favorable for white and scores -.2 and higher. We have rejected lines as being dead for white with much lower evals. |

 | | Tabanus: <capafan> Probably it's the best we have. Try 27.Qe7 Nd5 28.Qh4 Be6 29.Nc3 Bd8 30.Qd4 Bf6 31.Nxd5 Bxd5 32.Qd2 h4 33.g4 Rd8 34.Qxa5 Qd3 35.Nh2 |
