Jun-06-09  Augalv: Un gusto verlo <visayanbraindoctor>.

You are right, I completely forgot this was Leko's annual rapid match event. Last year he played Carlsen if i'm not mistaken.

<Next year, I would like to see Leko play Morozevich or Shirov.>

I'd lke to see him play Morozevich or Karjakin ;). But a match between Leko and Shirov would be interesting too.

Jun-07-09  810609: I was in Miskolc yesterday to see games live. Beautiful playing venue, nice people everywhere and Hungarians are quite educated "chess nation". Some minor organizational details (like providing comments in another language except Hungarian and keep DTG board working for analysis)can be improved, but...

It was quite funny after the second game, when arbiter Mrs. Veroci announced short comments from players about the games. Leko and Anand were discussing "privately" and she was standing there quite helpless for a minute or two, not sure if she can interrupt their discussion :-)

Jun-07-09  waustad: From the schedule I thought they should already be playing. If they can alternate with the Carlsen v ivanchuk games it will make out lives easier. ;-)
Jun-07-09  kramputz: The game started 25 minutes ago but no broadcast yet. Please no more Grunfeld !
Jun-07-09  ercliderc: where do u/would u watch these games live, guys?
Jun-07-09  sheaf: no coverage anywhere ?!
Jun-07-09  k0mi: it was a draw but they didn't broadcast it for unknown reasons. here is my source:
http://www.lekoanand.hu/4.html
Jun-07-09  RonB52734: Here is the English-language site: http://www.lekoanand.hu/eng/2.html
Jun-07-09  ercliderc: i see. thx everyone.
Jun-07-09  sheaf: will there be a 8th game..?! anand wins easily this time.
Jun-07-09  butilikefur: hey... can't see the games. the site isn't working. is there anywhere else I can see it?
Jun-07-09  malthrope: Apparently the 'live' transmission on the official website failed. However, the PGN game is available but someone reported the score was *not* correct. Game #7 was a draw [Source: kibitzing on PlayChess server]. ;) - Mal
Jun-07-09  Kangaroo: A peaceful draw after

Jun-07-09  sheaf: <Kangaroo> is that game 8..?! i suppose so
Jun-07-09  Kangaroo: It was game 7, and CG.com has already posted it.

Visit http://www.chesspro.ru/chessonline/... for information about the currently played game 8 - the moves may appear there minutes before this site has them found somewhere.

Jun-07-09  sheaf: 8th game in progress, caro Kan defence anand has an extra pawn..he can play for a win actually since the match is now decided now..
Jun-07-09  DCP23: 8th game drawn.

Match score Anand 5 : 3 Leko.

Leko was unable to win a single game.

Jun-07-09  sheaf: 8th game drawn..Anand wins the match +2..sadly one of our esteemed kibitzers prediction wasn't right..
Jun-07-09  Udit Narayan: Congrats Anand! Great performance from the WC!
Jun-07-09  furrer: sheaf :) His guess was good though
Jun-07-09  acirce: <sadly one of our esteemed kibitzers prediction wasn't right..>

Not true. <SetNoEscapeOn> was completely right! :)

Jun-07-09  SetNoEscapeOn: Haha, thanks <acirce>
Jun-09-09  SirChrislov: Haha, thanks <furrer>
Jun-22-09  percyblakeney: It's strange, Leko isn't a bad rapid player, he has beaten Moro three years in a row in Amber rapid, and Anand (!) two years in a row in the same event. In this match series he has found it much harder to win games though, now it is 18 winless games in a row.
