under construction

Held at Stockholm in August. Anatoly Karpov emerged victorious in the final A group with 10/11, surrendering only 2 draws. Eugenio Torre won in the final B group with 9/11. A preliminary tournament consisted of 38 players divided into 6 sections in which the top 2 finishers of each group would meet in one of the final groups.

See Game Collection: 1967 World Junior chess championship for the previous; some qualifiers may have been:

European Junior (Dec 1967 - Jan 1968 at Groningen): Adorjan vs H Dudek, 1967 , Adorjan vs J Moles, 1968 , G Ligterink vs Adorjan, 1967 , etc; Game Collection: Karpov Tournament Champion - I also has a nice and short discussion of Karpov's record there.
