GrahamClayton: The citation for this game is incorrect. This game was played in the 1954 Pan-American tournament at the Hollywood Athletic Club in Los Angeles.
Jan-14-11  wordfunph: <Graham> thanks for the correction, sidelights of this game..

When U.S. Junior Champion Saul Yarmak faced Arthur Bisguier in Round 13 at Hollywood 1954, they had an instantaneous personality clash. Bisguier was impressed with Yarmak as being an egomaniac braggart who like to criticize other players. And so, Bisguier offered him a side bet at 20-to-1 odds. Bisguier also gave him draw odds --- that is, a draw will count as a win for Yarmak. Bisguier eventually won…

Jan-14-11  SvetlanaBabe: Yarmak must be related to David Beaumont another egomaniac braggart from Australia. This Beaumont is best known for physically attacking an innocent spectator at the Doeberl Cup some years ago. I bet Yarmak didn't do that!
Dec-04-14  zanzibar: Yes, I agree with <GrahamClayon> as well. And the story by <wordfunph> also.

I don't know how <Beaumont> came into the picture though!
